In July 2023, together with a friend, Mr. Ta Huu Tinh began renovating his family's island in Gay village, Yen Binh commune, Lao Cai province, and boldly purchased nearly 3,000 grapevines (black grape and peony grape varieties) for experimental planting. After two years, the vines have started bearing fruit, and at this time, there are scattered clusters of ripe grapes.

Mr. Ta Huu Tinh shared: "I visited several places like Vinh Phuc and Dong Anh and saw that this grapevine was effective, so I brought some back to plant. After nearly two years, I found that this grapevine is well-suited to the soil, climate, and topography, and it has already borne fruit."
Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Nga (a tourist) shared: "I was very surprised to find a beautiful and large vineyard of milk grapes on Thac Ba Lake. The grapes will be ready for harvest in about a month and a half, and I really hope to come back to experience the grape ripening season."

Grapevines bear fruit twice a year, in April and October, with each harvest lasting approximately 2.5 months. On average, each bunch of grapes can weigh from 700 grams to nearly 1 kilogram.

Thac Ba Lake has over 1,300 islands of varying sizes, each with similar weather and climate conditions. Locals hope that grapes will be a promising crop, offering high economic returns and contributing to the promotion of ecotourism in the lake region.
