In recent years, upholding the spirit of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" and the tradition of "Loyalty - Unity - Exemplary Conduct - Innovation," the Veterans Association of Luc Yen commune has become a core force and a reliable support for the Party Committee, government, and people. Cadres and members consistently maintain their integrity and self-reliance, making significant contributions to socio-economic development, political security, and social order at the grassroots level.
The Veterans Association of Luc Yen commune has 44 branches with 1,126 members. Despite operating under a newly reorganized and adjusted administrative system, the association quickly stabilized and implemented its tasks comprehensively. Patriotic emulation movements, especially the "Exemplary Veterans" and "Veterans Helping Each Other Reduce Poverty and Excel in Economic Activities" movements, continue to develop strongly and spread throughout the community.
During the past term, the commune's Veterans Association organized 268 social monitoring and criticism sessions, actively contributing to the building of the Party and government; proactively combating erroneous viewpoints and protecting the Party's ideological foundation. In addition, they closely coordinated with the military and police forces in ensuring national defense and security, maintaining stability at the grassroots level, and preventing the emergence of hotspots. This is a distinctive feature demonstrating the role of veterans in the new era.

Along with their contributions to building the political system, veteran association members play a pioneering role in economic development. Driven by a spirit of "daring to think, daring to act," many production and business models run by veterans have yielded significant results: concentrated fruit tree cultivation, family-run livestock farms, commercial services, construction materials, etc.
The entire commune currently has 16 cooperatives and 34 production and business establishments run by members, creating jobs for hundreds of workers, with an average income of 10-30 million VND/person/month. In the "Veterans Helping Each Other Reduce Poverty and Excel in Business" movement, 36 outstanding collectives and individuals have emerged; 28 members have achieved the title of excellent producers and businesspeople at various levels.
Mr. Pham Van Hai, a veteran from village 12, is one of the exemplary individuals who overcame difficulties and rose above adversity, affirming the character of a soldier. Furthermore, he has encouraged members to boldly apply science and technology and expand their production scale.

One of the pillars contributing to improving the lives of its members is policy-based credit activities. The association currently manages 12 savings and loan groups in 9 villages, with a total outstanding loan balance of over 26 billion VND, an increase of 6 billion VND compared to the previous term. From the National Employment Fund, 530 member households have received loans, creating jobs for more than 115 workers. As a result, the poverty rate has decreased to 0.26%, the near-poverty rate to 0.7%; and the number of well-off and wealthy households has reached 38.4%, an increase of 46 households compared to the previous term.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nang, Head of the Veterans Association in Tham Pong village, shared: “The movement has created a bond and mutual support among members. My family has developed a model of growing oranges combined with livestock farming, bringing in an income of over 300 million VND per year.”
The role of veterans is also affirmed in the field of rural development and social activities. Over the past three years, members have contributed 473 man-days of labor and donated over 2,100 square meters of land to expand roads and build four self-managed "bright, green, clean, and beautiful" roads. The association has mobilized over 450 million VND for funds such as: "For the Poor," "Gratitude and Repayment," "Disaster Prevention," and "Education Promotion, Humanitarianism, and Charity"; supporting 22 members to escape poverty, and building and repairing seven temporary or dilapidated houses.
In addition, the Veterans Association also collaborates with the Youth Union of the commune to organize traditional talks and educate the younger generation about patriotism; and encourages young people to enlist in the army, fulfilling the annual recruitment quota.

For the 2025-2030 term, the Luc Yen Commune Veterans Association aims to continue upholding the spirit of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers," building a strong and comprehensive organization; striving to make Luc Yen a developed commune of the province by 2030. Two breakthroughs have been identified: Promoting the "Veterans helping each other reduce poverty and develop the economy" movement, aiming to eliminate poverty among association members; and building a team of association officials with strong political convictions, moral character, and practical capabilities to meet the demands of new tasks.
The Chairman of the Veterans Association of the commune, Pham Van Tinh, emphasized: "The veteran force plays an important role in strengthening the people's trust in the Party and the government, and is the nucleus of unity in the community."
In peacetime, the veterans of Luc Yen commune are not only "keepers of tradition," but also a pioneering force, contributing to Luc Yen's steady progress into a new phase of development with a desire for innovation and a spirit of dedication.
