On December 14th, the leadership of Phuc Hung Private General Hospital ( Quang Ngai province) announced that the hospital had admitted 10 more people with symptoms of food poisoning.
The patients came from various communes and wards across the province, but all exhibited symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and high fever after consuming bread purchased from the Hong Van establishment.

Since December 13th, Phuc Hung Private General Hospital has admitted and treated 25 patients suspected of food poisoning from eating bread. Most patients are recovering well, with only one 73-year-old man experiencing a serious condition due to acute kidney failure.
According to the Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Health , as of now, approximately 50 people have been diagnosed with suspected food poisoning from bread purchased from the Hong Van establishment. This establishment has numerous branches throughout Quang Ngai province.
The Department has requested that Hong Van bakery temporarily cease operations to facilitate inspections and food sample testing to determine the cause of the poisoning. Testing of patient samples and food will take approximately one week to yield accurate results.
The Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Health also requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to strengthen inspections of bread production and business establishments in their areas to prevent potential food poisoning incidents.
