One early Monday morning, the courtyard of the Ka Trên village cultural center in Na Ngoi commune was filled with people attending a public awareness session on the dangers and risks of weapons, explosives, and supporting tools. The program was organized by the 4th Economic -Defense Brigade, 4th Military Region, in coordination with local Party committees, authorities, and other forces. The session began with specific stories, vivid visual images, and easy-to-understand analyses of the safety risks and legal violations associated with possessing and using homemade weapons, explosives, and supporting tools. Immediately afterward, many residents proactively signed pledges not to violate the law and voluntarily surrendered homemade weapons. It is reported that at the end of the campaign in the villages of Ka Trên, Thăm Hón, Tặng Phăn, and Huồi Thum (Na Ngoi commune), over 350 residents signed pledges not to violate the law and voluntarily surrendered 10 firearms of various types along with many dangerous supporting tools.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Van Trung Cong, Deputy Head of the Political Department (Economic-Defense Brigade 4), shared: Na Ngoi is a border area still facing many difficulties, where the Mong ethnic group is the majority, and has faced many challenges due to backward customs, social evils, violations of the law, and the illegal buying, storing, and use of weapons, explosives, and supporting tools. Implementing the Government's Project 1371 on "Promoting the role of the People's Army in participating in the dissemination and education of law, and mobilizing people to comply with the law at the grassroots level in the period 2021-2027," Economic-Defense Brigade 4 has coordinated the deployment of many creative forms of propaganda, from direct conversations with the people to film screenings, mobile broadcasting to villages, and distributing illustrated leaflets in both Kinh and Mong languages. Banners and posters placed in crowded areas help spread the message about safety.

Thanks to this, from 2024 to the present, hundreds of people have signed pledges and voluntarily surrendered 135 firearms of various types, along with many supporting tools, knives, and homemade swords. This action not only contributes to effectively preventing various types of crime but also creates a stable, safe, and favorable environment for socio-economic development, poverty reduction, and brings peace to the border region. Major Ly Ba Lu, Head of the Na Ngoi Commune Police, shared: "The success in Na Ngoi is not just the result of individual efforts but the combined strength of the entire political system. Previously, persuasion was very difficult, but now, people have raised their awareness and are much more proactive, even encouraging their relatives to surrender weapons, explosives, and supporting tools; contributing to protecting peace along the entire border of the Fatherland."
