Early one morning in the morning of the week, the yard of the Ka Tren Village Cultural House, Na Ngoi Commune, had a large number of people attending a propaganda session on the harmful effects and dangers of weapons, explosives, and supporting tools. Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Van Trung Cong, Deputy Head of the Political Department (Economic and Defense Group 4), shared: Na Ngoi is a border area with many difficulties, where the Mong people make up the majority, and has faced many challenges due to many backward customs, social evils, law violations, and the illegal purchase, storage, and use of weapons, explosives, and support tools. Implementing the Government's Project 1371 on "Promoting the role of the People's Army in participating in the dissemination and education of the law, mobilizing people to comply with the law at the grassroots level in the period of 2021-2027", Economic and Defense Group 4 has coordinated to deploy many creative forms of propaganda, from talking directly to people to showing films, broadcasting to villages, and distributing illustrated leaflets in both Kinh and Mong languages. Billboards and posters placed in crowded places help spread the message of safety.
Thanks to that, from 2024 to now, hundreds of people have signed a commitment and voluntarily surrendered 135 guns of various types and many support tools, knives, and homemade swords. This action not only contributes to effectively preventing crimes but also creates a stable, safe, and favorable environment for socio-economic development, hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and brings a peaceful life to the border area. Major Ly Ba Lu, Chief of Na Ngoi Commune Police, shared: The success in Na Ngoi is not only the result of individual efforts but also the combined strength of the entire political system. In the past, mobilization was very difficult, but now, people have raised awareness, are much more proactive, and even mobilize their relatives to surrender weapons, explosives, and support tools; contributing to protecting peace along the entire border of the Fatherland.
