The Ministry of Industry and Trade launches a chatbot to answer questions about E10 gasoline.

From June 1st, people can quickly look up information about E10 bioethanol through a chatbot on the Ministry of Industry and Trade's portal and the Industry and Trade Newspaper.

From June 1st, E10 bioethanol fuel will officially be available for mass sale nationwide, according to the roadmap stipulated in Circular No. 50/2025/TT-BCT dated November 7, 2025, of the Ministry of Industry and Trade .

To meet the public's need for information about this type of fuel, the Industry and Trade Newspaper has developed and launched a chatbot for answering questions about E10 gasoline on the Ministry of Industry and Trade's information portal and the Industry and Trade Newspaper website.

The chatbot operates based on a set of hundreds of questions and answers compiled and reviewed by the editorial team, covering issues that readers often care about, such as which types of vehicles can use E10 gasoline, how to use it, fuel consumption levels, or mandatory conversion schedules…

When a question is entered, the system will search this database and provide the most relevant answer. In addition, the chatbot also suggests related questions for users to choose from, allowing them to receive accurate and immediate answers based on pre-compiled and reviewed content.

For questions that do not have readily available answers, the chatbot does not generate content automatically but records it for the operators to add, thereby ensuring that the information provided to the public is always accurate and minimizing errors.

The chatbot is integrated into the online newspaper of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Industry and Trade's electronic portal at moit.gov.vn, and can be conveniently used on both computers and mobile phones.

According to Circular 50/2025 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, from June 1st, all unleaded gasoline circulating in the market must be blended with ethanol to become E10 gasoline before being sold. Accordingly, RON 95 gasoline sold in the market will be blended with 10% fuel ethanol as per the new regulations.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that the deployment of E10 gasoline was not a sudden decision but part of a roadmap that Vietnam had developed many years prior. As early as 2012, the Prime Minister issued Decision 53/2012/QD-TTg on the roadmap for applying the blending ratio of biofuels with traditional fuels.

Following the nationwide introduction of E5 gasoline in 2018, regulatory authorities have continued to research, evaluate, and refine the technical conditions and infrastructure for blending and distribution in order to proceed with the deployment of E10 gasoline.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the switch to E10 gasoline stems from several strategic objectives. Firstly, it's a solution to diversify fuel sources, reducing dependence on fossil fuels amidst the unpredictable fluctuations of the global energy market. Secondly, increasing the ethanol content in the fuel contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with Vietnam's commitments at COP26 regarding net-zero emissions by 2050.

In particular, the rollout of E10 gasoline is also expected to provide impetus to the domestic biofuel industry, expand markets for agricultural products such as cassava and corn, and promote the development of a circular economy and a green economy.
