The Ministry of Industry and Trade has requested that the blending and mixing of E5 and E10 gasoline be accelerated.

The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) has recently issued a document to petroleum trading companies, petroleum production companies, and petroleum distribution companies regarding ensuring the supply of biofuels from June 1, 2026.

This implementation aims to enforce Circular No. 50/2025/TT-BCT dated November 7, 2025, issued by the Minister of Industry and Trade, which stipulates the roadmap for applying the blending ratio of biofuels with traditional fuels.

Accordingly, from June 1, 2026, unleaded gasoline conforming to current national technical standards must be blended into E10 gasoline for use in gasoline engines nationwide. Simultaneously, E5RON92 gasoline will continue to be blended and supplied for use in gasoline engines until December 31, 2030.

To ensure the supply of biofuels to meet consumer demand and facilitate the circulation of goods in the market, the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development requires petroleum producers to proactively secure base gasoline sources, accelerate the blending and mixing of E5 and E10 biofuels; and ensure the full supply of biofuel quantities as agreed upon with petroleum trading companies according to the committed plan and schedule.

For petroleum wholesalers and distributors, the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development requires them to proactively develop plans for blending, mixing, and purchasing biofuels from businesses with biofuel blending facilities and wholesalers to ensure a stable supply for the distribution system.

In addition, businesses need to direct and coordinate with their affiliated distribution systems, franchisees, and retail gasoline dealers to fully prepare the necessary infrastructure and technical conditions to be ready to distribute E5 and E10 bioethanol gasoline from June 1, 2026.

The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development also requested that key petroleum producers, traders, and distributors closely monitor the consumption of biofuels in the market; proactively plan for supply sources, ensuring a sufficient and continuous supply of biofuels in all situations.

During the implementation process, if any difficulties or obstacles arise that are beyond their authority, businesses should promptly report them to the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development for consideration and resolution, ensuring that there is absolutely no disruption to the supply of biofuel on the market.
