As a special military unit, it is responsible for mobile operations on rivers and at sea, closely coordinating with forces to firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of Military Region 9 and performing the tasks of flood and storm prevention, rescue and relief in conditions of big waves, strong winds, storms and rain. To improve combat readiness and meet mission requirements in all situations, the unit regularly improves the quality of training, especially physical training for officers and soldiers.
