Faced with the damage caused by floods in Bac Ly commune, Nghe An province, Military Region 4 mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers of Division 324 to quickly cross streams and forests to quickly arrive, coordinate with teachers and local people to urgently clean up and repair. In recent days, groups of officers and soldiers with their shirts rolled up, hoes and shovels in hand, immersing themselves in the rain and sun to diligently level mud and soil, rebuild tables and chairs, clear sewers, and reinforce the school yard... The sound of shovels and hoes mixed with the cheerful laughter, seemed to dispel some of the gloomy atmosphere after the storm and flood.

Officers and soldiers of Regiment 335, Division 324 made every effort to help Bac Ly 2 Primary School overcome flood consequences.

Teacher Nguyen Van Khoa, Principal of Bac Ly 2 Primary School, emotionally shared: “Thanks to the timely support of the officers and soldiers of Division 324 who came to our school, seeing the enthusiastic working spirit of the soldiers from dawn to dusk, up to now, each classroom, desk, chair, school supplies, and school yard have gradually been revived. We are very grateful to the officers and soldiers of Division 324 for bringing the love and enthusiasm of youth to help students enter the new school year as planned.”

The image of the soldiers of Division 324 standing side by side with teachers and people to overcome the consequences of floods is a vivid proof of the spirit of “the army and the people are like fish and water”. Thanks to that cooperation, the dream of going to school of children in the highlands of Bac Ly continues to be lit up, so that laughter and talking resound in the mountains and forests, despite the difficulties caused by natural disasters.

With the help of the army, the school has restored its appearance.

Talking to us, Lieutenant Colonel Phan Van Dung, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Division, said: “Although it was only a short time, with a sense of responsibility towards the Party, the State and the Army, the officers and soldiers of Division 324 did not hesitate to face difficulties and hardships, crossed mountains and forests, regardless of danger, and moved to the mountainous communes of Bac Ly, My Ly, and Muong Tip, including Bac Ly 2 Primary School, one of the locations that suffered heavy damage. Understanding that, the officers and soldiers of Division 324 devoted their efforts and hearts together with the Party Committee, government and people to quickly overcome and change the appearance of the school, helping teachers and students here prepare for the new school year.”

Officers and soldiers of Regiment 335 completed the mission of helping Bac Ly 2 Primary School overcome the consequences of floods.

For the officers and soldiers of Division 324, during the days of eating, living and working together with the people and teachers to restore the appearance of each school and village after the historic flood, at the same time through this mission, the image of soldiers who sacrificed themselves for the people has added confidence to help the people feel secure in staying in their villages and hamlets to develop the economy and society.
