The Ministry of Education and Training has requested Hanoi to verify reports of illegal tutoring and supplementary classes.

On April 23, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a document requesting the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to verify information regarding violations of tutoring regulations and to strictly handle any violations (if any).

On April 22nd, the "24h News" program broadcast on VTV1 television channel featured a report reflecting on the organization of extra classes and tutoring that violate the regulations in Circular 29/2024/TT-BGDĐT in Hanoi .

Regarding this matter, on April 23rd, the Ministry of Education and Training issued document No. 1945/BGDĐT-GDPT to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, requesting them to check and verify the information, strictly handle any violations (if any) according to regulations; and report the results of the handling to the Ministry of Education and Training in writing before April 30th.

Previously, on April 2nd, the Ministry of Education and Training issued công văn (official letter) No. 1479/BGDĐT-GDPT to the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-administered cities regarding the continued strengthening of the implementation of Prime Minister 's Directive No. 10/CĐ-TTg dated February 7th, 2025, on strengthening guidance on junior high school and high school enrollment and managing extracurricular teaching and learning activities.

On March 28th, the Ministry of Education and Training held an online conference to evaluate the management of extracurricular tutoring according to Circular No. 29/2024/TT-BGDĐT dated December 30, 2024 (Circular No. 29) and the enrollment process for the first grade, and the organization of the 2025 high school graduation exam.

However, some localities have not strictly implemented the regulations regarding the reporting deadline for the implementation of Circular No. 29. Some localities are still struggling with implementation because they have not yet issued regulations on the management of extracurricular tutoring within their authority.

To further strengthen state management of education and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of management, the Ministry of Education and Training requests the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-administered cities to continue to implement synchronously and decisively the tasks and take full responsibility for the enrollment of junior high school students, high school students, and the management of extracurricular tutoring activities in their localities, as required by the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch No. 10/CĐ-TTg.
