US Department of Education: Harvard University abandons academic rigor

In a move that escalates the conflict between President Donald Trump and Harvard University, the US Department of Education announced on May 5 that it would suspend $8 billion in funding for the world's most prestigious school.

“Harvard is not eligible to receive any new federal funding until it demonstrates its ability to manage the university responsibly,” the US Department of Education stated.

According to the U.S. Department of Education, public trust in Harvard University is at an all-time low. The school has also failed to combat anti-Semitism and discrimination on campus.
