According to the "Development of Satellite Hospital Network Project for the period 2026 - 2030" issued with Decision No. 1068 dated April 17, 2026, the Ministry of Health aims to develop at least 200 additional satellite hospitals nationwide by 2030.
The project aims to improve the capacity for medical examination and treatment at the grassroots level, reduce the burden on higher-level hospitals, and create conditions for people to access quality medical services right in their local area. According to the objectives, 100% of the satellite hospitals participating in the project will receive and implement techniques transferred from the core hospital; medical personnel will receive training and professional development and participate in managing severe and high-risk cases.
The project also aims to reduce the number of patient referrals by at least 20% for disease groups and techniques for which professional training and support have been provided. Simultaneously, it aims to promote the application of information technology, digital transformation, and remote professional support systems between core hospitals and satellite hospitals.
