VietNamNet•18/03/2025According to information from the Social Insurance Management Council, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed a decision appointing Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Finance, to concurrently hold the position of Chairman of the Social Insurance Management Council, replacing Mr. Ho Duc Phoc.
Previously, Mr. Ho Duc Phoc was approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as Deputy Prime Minister.
The decision is valid for a period of 5 years.

Currently, the Social Insurance Management Council has one Vice Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong.
The Commissioners, representing central ministries and agencies, include: Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister of Public Security ; Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Deputy Ministers of Home Affairs Nguyen Ba Hoan and Vu Chien Thang; Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan; Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu; Vice President of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Nguyen Xuan Dinh; Vice President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance Nguyen Manh Cuong; and Vice President of the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry Hoang Quang Phong.
Vietnam Social Security is a specialized unit under the Ministry of Finance with the function of organizing the implementation of social insurance and health insurance schemes and policies; organizing the collection and disbursement of unemployment insurance benefits; managing and utilizing non-budgetary state financial funds: social insurance, unemployment insurance, and health insurance according to the provisions of law.
Vietnam Social Security participates with competent State agencies in developing, supplementing, and perfecting policies and laws on social insurance, unemployment insurance, health insurance, etc.
The Vietnam Social Security (BHXH Vietnam) has legal personality, a seal bearing the national emblem, is authorized to open accounts at commercial banks and the State Treasury, and has its headquarters in Hanoi.
