Minister Nguyen Van Thang added new tasks

The Prime Minister has just signed a Decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Finance, to concurrently hold the position of Chairman of the Social Insurance Management Board to replace Mr. Ho Duc Phoc.

According to information from the Social Insurance Management Board, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed a decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Finance, to concurrently hold the position of Chairman of the Social Insurance Management Board to replace Mr. Ho Duc Phoc.

Previously, Mr. Ho Duc Phoc was approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as Deputy Prime Minister.

The decision is valid for a period of 5 years.

Currently, the Social Insurance Management Board has a Vice Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong.

The members are representatives of ministries, departments and branches at the Central level, including: Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister of Public Security ; Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Deputy Ministers of Home Affairs Nguyen Ba Hoan and Vu Chien Thang; Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan; Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu; Vice President of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Nguyen Xuan Dinh; Vice President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance Nguyen Manh Cuong; Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry Hoang Quang Phong.

Vietnam Social Security is a special unit under the Ministry of Finance with the function of organizing the implementation of social insurance and health insurance regimes and policies; organizing the collection and disbursement of unemployment insurance regimes; managing and using non-budgetary state financial funds: social insurance, unemployment insurance, health insurance according to the provisions of law.

Vietnam Social Security participates with competent State agencies in developing, supplementing, and perfecting policies and laws on social insurance, unemployment insurance, health insurance, etc.

Vietnam Social Security has legal status, a seal with the national emblem, is allowed to open accounts at commercial banks, the State Treasury and has its headquarters in Hanoi city.
