In his resignation letter, Reznikov outlined his 22 months in office, praising Ukraine's fierce resistance in the conflict with Russia and the efforts of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense under his leadership to secure military aid from the West.
Mr. Reznikov is considered a potential successor to Ukraine's ambassador to the United Kingdom after resigning. He stated that one of Kyiv's main priorities is building long-term partnerships with key allies and "ensuring real security."
Under Reznikov, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense faced wartime scandals regarding the procurement of food and clothing, as well as other allegations of corruption. Reznikov denied any involvement in the wrongdoing.
He stated in his resignation letter that defense procurement processes had been reformed during his tenure and that he had completed all the tasks assigned to him since his appointment 22 months prior.
