Associate Professor, Dr. Vo Thanh Toan - Deputy Director of Thong Nhat Hospital - said that to ensure emergency care for the upcoming April 30 and May 1 holidays, the hospital has deployed four outpatient medical teams, responsible for taking care of the health of senior officials attending the series of commemorative activities.

At the same time, proactively prepare adequate medicine, hospital beds, supplies and medical equipment necessary for treatment.

In addition, the hospital has established three disaster emergency teams and two rapid response teams that are always on standby, ensuring the ability to respond quickly and effectively when situations arise.

According to the plan of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, the city will organize 21 emergency teams (each team includes 1 car, 2 doctors, 2 nurses, 1 driver) arranged in 3 layers ready to coordinate with the on-duty teams of Cho Ray Hospital, Thong Nhat Hospital, Military Hospital 175 and the Ministry of Public Security's Health Department to ensure emergency care when needed.

After listening to reports and proposals from all units, the Deputy Minister of Health acknowledged and commended the careful preparation, serious working spirit and responsibility of the medical units for the two upcoming important events.

At the same time, it is necessary to continue to encourage medical staff and divide shifts reasonably to ensure health and avoid overloading during duty.

Hospitals need to ensure adequate equipment, medicine, and ambulances; coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City Police in emergency transportation, and survey the most appropriate routes to the fastest hospitals.

Along with that, medical units need to fully prepare disaster response scenarios and handle unusual situations, including weather changes, crowds, fires, etc.

In particular, it is necessary to strengthen communication work and guide people to prepare when participating in crowded events to ensure safety.
