On April 26th, a delegation from the Ministry of Health, led by Professor Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health, inspected the healthcare services for the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the implementation of healthcare arrangements for the 2025 United Nations Vesak Day celebrations.

Associate Professor Vo Thanh Toan, Deputy Director of Thong Nhat Hospital, said that to ensure emergency medical services during the upcoming April 30th and May 1st holidays, the hospital has deployed four outpatient medical teams to provide healthcare for senior officials attending the commemorative events.

At the same time, proactively prepare sufficient quantities of medicines, hospital beds, supplies, and necessary medical equipment to serve the treatment process.

In addition, the hospital has established three disaster emergency teams and two rapid response teams that are always on standby, ensuring a quick and effective response should any situation arise.

According to the plan of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, the city will organize 21 emergency response teams (each team consisting of 1 vehicle, 2 doctors, 2 nurses, and 1 driver) arranged in 3 layers, ready to coordinate with the on-call teams of Cho Ray Hospital, Thong Nhat Hospital, Military Hospital 175, and the Health Department of the Ministry of Public Security to ensure emergency care when needed.

After hearing reports and proposals from all units, the Deputy Minister of Health acknowledged and commended the thorough preparation and serious, responsible work ethic of the health units for the two upcoming major events.

At the same time, it should be noted that it is necessary to continue motivating the medical staff and to divide shifts appropriately to ensure their health and avoid overloading them during the performance of their duties.

Hospitals need to ensure they have adequate equipment, medicines, and ambulances; coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Police in emergency transport; and survey the most efficient routes to hospitals for the fastest possible response.

In addition, healthcare facilities need to be fully prepared with disaster response scenarios and plans to handle unusual situations, including changes in weather, overcrowding, fires, and explosions.

In particular, it is necessary to strengthen communication efforts and guide people on how to prepare for large gatherings to ensure safety.

Cambodian police, military, and students participate in "Blood Donation Day".

On April 26th, Cho Ray Hospital welcomed Mr. Chan Sorykan, Consul General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City, along with nearly 80 trainees, including police officers, military personnel, and Cambodian students studying at the People's Security College and the People's Security University in Ho Chi Minh City, to participate in the "Blood Donation Day" at the Cho Ray Blood Transfusion Center.

Dr. Nguyen Quoc Binh, Deputy Director of Cho Ray Hospital, stated that amidst the nationwide celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, the Cho Ray Blood Transfusion Center is responsible for providing blood for treatment not only patients at the hospital but also for medical facilities in the Southeast region.

In that capacity, Cho Ray Hospital greatly appreciates the enthusiastic support of Cambodian students studying in Ho Chi Minh City who participated in blood donation.

This demonstrates the goodwill, sharing spirit, solidarity, and mutual support of the two nations, accompanying each other throughout their struggle for independence and freedom, as well as in the process of cooperation, construction, and development in Southeast Asia.
