Thanh Hoa (in yellow jerseys) will no longer have to play matches relying on "foreign players".
On the evening of March 16th, the World Football Federation (FIFA) officially lifted all transfer bans imposed on Thanh Hoa FC. Previously, the Thanh Hoa team had been banned by FIFA from registering new players at various times due to outstanding salaries, bonuses, and signing fees for foreign players and head coaches.
Having settled all debts and secured the return of the foreign players, the coach withdrew his complaint, allowing Thanh Hoa FC to register new players starting from the March 2026 transfer window. Coach Mai Xuan Hop's team will no longer face the situation of playing with a thin squad (16-17 players) or having to field a goalkeeper as a striker, as they did in recent rounds.

Thanh Hoa will have a better chance of avoiding relegation in the V-League if they can strengthen their squad significantly in time.
The mid-season player registration period will close at the end of today (March 17). Thanh Hoa team has long prepared its personnel plan and is only waiting to complete the paperwork. Coach Mai Xuan Hop will have 6 new players, including 2 foreign players, starting from round 17 of the V-League 2025-2026.
After 16 rounds, Thanh Hoa is ranked 12th in the standings, temporarily ahead of the two bottom teams by 1 and 2 points respectively. The Thanh Hoa team had previously won the National Cup for two consecutive seasons and was a contender for the V-League title for many consecutive seasons. However, after Chairman Doan was arrested midway through the 2025-2026 season, Thanh Hoa FC faced a shortage of operating funds and repeatedly faced the risk of dissolution.
