Accordingly, before the match between Farense Club and Casa Pia Club in the first round of Primeira Liga on August 13, all members of the two teams observed a minute of silence to remember HAGL foreign player Paollo. Before coming to Vietnam to compete, Paollo played for Farense Club from 2019 to 2021.

The match between Farense Club and Casa Pia Club held a moment of silence in memory of striker Paollo

Paollo Oliveira was born in Brazil but grew up and developed his football career in Portugal. The striker born in 1996 grew up in the training academy of Imortal Club, then moved to Quarteirense Club and then joined Farense Club.

In early 2022, Paollo arrived at the V-League to play for Ha Tinh Club on loan from Farense Club, with a 1-year contract. At Ha Tinh Club, the striker born in 1996 played 23 matches in V-League 2022 and contributed 8 goals. After the loan contract expired, Paollo officially joined HAGL from the beginning of the 2023 season and became the best striker of the mountain town team with 6 goals.

Paollo used to play for Farense Club.

After the final match of V-League 2023 between HAGL and SLNA at Vinh Stadium (August 11), Paollo planned to return to Portugal. However, the plan of this 27-year-old striker and his fiancée (waiting in Pleiku) could not become a reality. On the way from Dak Lak to Ham Rong by car on the afternoon of August 12, a tragic accident occurred and took the lives of 3 members of the HAGL team: Paollo, assistant coach Duong Minh Ninh and doctor Dao Trong Tri.

The passing of the three HAGL Club members is a great loss for Vietnamese football in general. Accordingly, the organizing committee of Vietnam's professional football tournaments said that they will hold a memorial service for the three unfortunate members of the mountain town team on August 15 and 16. Before the remaining four matches of the 16th round of the 2023 First Division and the two semi-finals of the 2023 National Cup ( Viettel vs. Binh Dinh, Thanh Hoa vs. PVF-CAND), the tournament organizing committee will take time to remember Paollo, assistant coach Duong Minh Ninh and doctor Dao Trong Tri.

The matches of the first division and the 2023 National Cup will also hold a moment of silence for the members of the HAGL team.
