2026 marks a significant transformation for the award as the I4 concept is expanded to include four new pillars: Industry, Innovation, Intelligence, and Impact. This approach emphasizes not only technological capabilities but also the practical value that solutions bring to the economy and society.
The Vietnam I4 Impact Awards 2026 are organized by the Institute for Innovation and Digital Transformation in collaboration with the National Digital Transformation Agency, the Vietnam Automation Association, and several other units, under the direction of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology . Through two rounds of evaluation, the expert panel selected 142 outstanding applications to award prizes in 5 major categories, comprehensively reflecting various fields of the digital economy. Among the 97 organizations, businesses, and individuals with outstanding achievements in innovation, digital transformation, and technology application, BSR is one of the exemplary units honored.
At this year's awards, BSR was honored in the "Industrial Impact Award (I4)" category for its pioneering and integrated application of core technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. These include Big Data, Digital Twin, AI/ML, and IoT in its production operations. Notably, the company has developed a Digital Twin model for key units such as RFCC, CCR, and NHT, enabling optimized operations based on real-time data.
The effectiveness of digital transformation is clearly demonstrated through operational indicators. BSR's Energy Efficiency Index (EII) has decreased from 106% to below 100%, contributing to cost reductions and CO₂ emission reductions. During the 2021-2025 period, the company recorded over 3,031 improvement initiatives with an estimated total benefit value of VND 2,084 billion. The integrated IT/OT/ERP digital ecosystem has laid the foundation for BSR's strong transformation into a smart and sustainable operating unit.

Not only did the award make its mark at the corporate level, but it also honored BSR General Director Nguyen Viet Thang in the "Innovation and Digital Transformation Leadership (I4 Innovation Leadership Award)" category. As the head of the company, Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang directly led the digitalization strategy, established the Digital Transformation Steering Committee, and issued the development orientation for science and technology and digital transformation until 2030, linked to the Net Zero goal and energy transition.
Under decisive leadership, BSR has digitized 100% of its management operations on mobile platforms, built a centralized data warehouse, and implemented AI solutions in practice. These steps not only improve management efficiency but also spread a culture of innovation throughout the enterprise, making BSR a leading model in Vietnam's heavy industry sector.
With a solid technological foundation and a long-term vision, BSR continues to strive towards building a "Green, Digital, and Smart Refinery" model. The company recognizes that the combination of human knowledge and technological power will be the key driving force to ensure national energy security and promote sustainable development in the digital economy era.
Being honored at the Vietnam I4 Impact Awards 2026 once again affirms BSR's pioneering position in the journey of innovation, contributing to realizing the goal of building Vietnam into a digital nation.
