The Command of Coast Guard Region 4 conducts live-fire exercises in 2026.

From May 26-28, at the Mui Ong Doi shooting range in Phu Quoc Special Zone, An Giang province, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 organized a live-fire test of K54 pistols (exercises 2 and 2b) and AK submachine guns (exercise 1) for officers and soldiers of its subordinate agencies and units.

The inspection aims to assess the actual level of command and organization, the ability to use and master infantry weapons, the courage, psychology, and situational handling skills of officers and soldiers; and at the same time, serve as a basis for evaluating mission performance and improving the quality of training.

To achieve high results in the inspection, in the past period, agencies and units have strictly implemented the plans and guidelines from higher levels; maintained rigorous and serious training according to the prescribed lesson plans, content, and time. Officers and soldiers actively reviewed and mastered the techniques and methods for handling situations arising during live-fire exercises. The work of ensuring the training ground, weapons and equipment, and safety plans has been implemented synchronously and seriously.

During the inspection process, officers and soldiers strictly adhered to field discipline, performed the movements correctly, and calmly and confidently completed all inspection tasks. The inspection results showed many shooting rounds achieving good or excellent scores, ensuring absolute safety for personnel and equipment.

Monitoring and directing the live-fire test, Colonel Tran Nguyen Lai - Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command - commended the sense of responsibility, organizational discipline, and practical shooting training results of the officers and soldiers of the agencies and units. He emphasized: "Through the live-fire test, we aim to further improve the technical and tactical skills and the ability to master weapons and equipment of the officers and soldiers; thereby applying them flexibly and effectively in performing the tasks of managing and protecting sovereignty , maintaining security, order, and safety at sea."
