BTS and other K-Pop artists achieved great success at the 2026 AMAs.

The 2026 American Music Awards (AMAs) ceremony witnessed the dominance of the K-Pop wave. Korean artists brilliantly took home many prestigious awards.

A historic turning point for K-Pop at the 2026 AMAs.

The 52nd American Music Awards (AMAs) recently concluded in Las Vegas, leaving a lasting impression. Supergroup BTS won the Artist of the Year award, beating out many other renowned names in the global music industry. This marks their second time winning this prestigious title, following their win in 2021. Additionally, they won Song of the Summer for their song "SWIM." Group leader RM expressed his deep gratitude in his acceptance speech. Their live appearance after five years sent the audience into a frenzy.

Dominance from other K-Pop representatives

Not only BTS, but other artists also brought great pride. Global rookie group KATSEYE swept all three categories they were nominated for. They convincingly won New Artist of the Year and Breakthrough Pop Artist. In addition, the group also won Best Music Video with their song "Gnarly". Meanwhile, TWICE affirmed their class by winning Best Female K-Pop Artist. The song "Golden" from the Netflix anime series, performed by the trio HUNTRIX (EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami), also won big. Therefore, this resounding success proves their undeniable appeal.

American singer-songwriter sombr had a fantastic night, winning Best Rock/Alternative Song for "Back to Friends," Best Rock/Alternative Album for "I Barely Know Her," and Breakthrough Rock/Alternative Artist.

The Black Eyed Peas won Best Classic Song for "Rock That Body," and Fergie performed alongside will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo. Karol G won Best Latin Album for "Tropicoqueta" and received the Best International Artist award from John Legend, while Shakira's "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour" won Tour of the Year. SZA won Best Female R&B Artist and Leon Thomas received Breakthrough R&B Artist.

Taylor Swift, who received eight nominations before the event, did not win any of the awards that were televised live and was not present at the venue.
