An exhibition celebrating the beauty of the Vietnamese ao dai (traditional dress) is being held at the Temple of Literature – National University, running from May 26th to June 2nd. According to the organizers, "The Art of Our Ao Dai" is not simply a fashion exhibition, but also a journey of storytelling about Vietnamese identity through the language of fashion, art, and cultural memory.
Designer Cao Minh Tien introduces a collection inspired by Dong Ho folk paintings – one of the representative artistic heritages of Vietnamese culture. Familiar images associated with folk life, such as traditional symbols, characteristic color palettes, and the cheerful spirit of Dong Ho paintings, are reinterpreted in the language of modern fashion.

In addition, Cao Minh Tien also launched a photo book about Vietnamese ao dai. The book documents the process of creating the ao dai - from the first sketches, the pattern making, cutting and sewing stages to the completion of the details.
Meanwhile, Miss Ngoc Han presented a collection of ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dresses) developed from her master's thesis, inspired by the patterns and motifs carved on the doctoral steles at the Temple of Literature - National University. Through each silhouette and line, the collection recreates the beauty of the intersection between knowledge, heritage, and fashion.
The exhibition also featured designer Che Quyet Tien and students from the Textile & Fashion Department of the University of Economics and Industrial Engineering. Che Quyet Tien presented a display space with miniature designs showcased on small mannequins resembling dolls. A highlight was a pink design inspired by the traditional Vietnamese ritual of Hau Dong (a type of shamanic ritual), which Hoa Minzy recently performed in her music video.
