102 POLICY SUBJECTS HAVE STABLE RESIDENCE
By the end of 2024, Bu Dop district still had 86 poor households and 209 near-poor households. Implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, in early 2025, the district reviewed and counted the conditions for implementing housing construction for beneficiary households. Through the review, Bu Dop had 102 cases that needed to build new and repair houses under the program. Of which, 63 houses needed to be newly built, 39 houses needed to be repaired with a total cost of more than 9.7 billion VND. The beneficiaries included 31 households of meritorious people, 71 poor and near-poor households. Notably, among them, there were 17 cases facing difficulties due to lack of residential land. These cases were actively mobilized and supported by local authorities in coordination with businesses, philanthropists and people, thereby helping the program to be fully completed.
Leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and leaders of Bu Dop district presented decisions to hand over houses to 17 households without land to build houses in village 5, Thien Hung commune.
Mr. Van Cong Danh, Vice Chairman of Bu Dop District People's Committee said: "During the implementation process, the most difficult thing was that households did not have land to build houses. However, thanks to the close direction of the District Party Committee, the District People's Committee, the coordination of the program's steering committee at the district and commune levels, and the cooperation of businesses and philanthropists, we have mobilized enough land. Thereby, we have implemented construction, ensuring that 17 special cases have stable housing."

Nearly 70 years old, Mr. Nguyen Minh Thanh in village 7, Thien Hung commune is still working hard to earn a living by selling lottery tickets. Having no house, Mr. Thanh has to rent a house and take care of all his daily activities. In his heart, having a solid home of his own is just a dream. However, what seemed impossible became a reality when Mr. Thanh was considered by the local government for support to build a house under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. "I never thought I would have such a house. When I received the new house, I was so happy and excited. Thank you to all levels and sectors for your care and help," Mr. Thanh emotionally shared.
At the age of nearly 70, Mr. Nguyen Minh Thanh was very happy and excited to receive a new, spacious house.
Another case is Ms. Pham Thi Bon, residing in Hamlet 4, Thien Hung Commune. As a single mother, for many years, Ms. Bon and her children have had to live in a cramped, inconvenient rented room. Her family's life depends entirely on her seasonal job. When the local government supported her to build a new house, her life seemed to have turned a new page. Ms. Bon shared: "If there was no program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the dream of having a real house would have been a distant dream for my children and me. Now, my children and I no longer have to live on others or temporarily. My family's life has changed a lot, I feel very happy and joyful."
Not only Mr. Thanh or Ms. Bon, hundreds of households in the border district of Bu Dop have also gradually escaped from their difficult lives thanks to having a stable home. Each house handed over is another beautiful story about the will to live, about the sharing and companionship of the Party, the State and the whole society with the poor.

The success of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Bu Dop district is the result of close coordination and consensus among Party committees at all levels, the government, the Fatherland Front, mass organizations and the support and companionship of the business community and philanthropists. The completion of the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses not only contributes to improving living conditions but also creates a foundation for people to rise out of poverty and stabilize the economy in the long term. The houses are not simply a civil construction but also a symbol of solidarity and humanity, the result of the spirit of "no one is left behind" concretized by practical actions. Not only having material significance, each house is also the foundation for people to settle down and work. Especially in the context of Bu Dop district still facing many difficulties, especially in the border area, stabilizing housing is the first step for people to feel secure in their land and village, contributing to maintaining national border security.
“The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has opened up new opportunities, helping people gradually access other support policies oneducation , health care, and livelihoods. From the spacious houses today, people have more confidence to strive to build a better life. We will continue to accompany and support people in difficult circumstances to escape poverty sustainably.” Chairman of Thien Hung Commune People's Committee NGUYEN SY QUOC |
With the results achieved, Bu Dop not only completed the specific social security goals but also affirmed the sense of responsibility, consensus and solidarity between the Party, the State and the people. Each house built is a symbol of affection, a foundation for people to live in peace, contributing to building an increasingly strong border.
