Ms. Nguyen Thi Ai Lam on 3/2 Street, Ninh Kieu Ward, Can Tho City, said: “Because of my busy work, I always prepare food for the whole week. In addition to homemade foods, I also add frozen pre-cooked foods. Frozen foods are getting fresher and fresher, and the spices are getting more and more delicious, especially frozen seafood. Pre-processed, pre-marinated or prepared “set” dishes also help to make cooking very quick.”

Grasping the increasing demand of customers, manufacturers have launched frozen foods with a variety of types and prices, suitable for the taste and "wallet" of Vietnamese families. Unlike fresh products, because they can proactively reserve the source of goods, the price of frozen products is quite stable, and units even reduce prices even during peak shopping seasons such as holidays and Tet.

At the supermarket systems Co.opmart, GO!, Winmart, Mega Market Hung Loi, LOTTE Mart..., frozen foods are reserved in large areas for sale, ranging from pure Vietnamese dishes to dishes with flavors from many countries around the world . According to experts, processed foods bring many benefits, but regularly consuming foods high in sugar, salt, fat, preservatives or artificial flavors (often found in frozen foods) is not good for health. Therefore, consumers need to be careful, choose products with clear origins, carefully check the ingredients listed on the packaging, and combine a balanced diet. Consumers also need to read the ingredients carefully, prioritize fresh foods, with few additives, branded and distributed at reputable supply points. At the same time, when buying products, it is necessary to check the expiry date, preservation method, processing method as well as usage method... listed on the product packaging so that the food is processed properly.

According to the manufacturer's recommendation, frozen dishes are pre-cooked to their original flavor before being quickly and deeply frozen from -35°C to -40°C, so consumers only need to store them at -18°C or in the freezer without worrying about affecting the flavor or nutrients. When using, there is no need to defrost, just remove the outer film, heat in the microwave for 4-8 minutes and you can use it immediately. There is no need to put it in a bowl or plate because the plastic tray and film of the product can be used in the microwave.
