Strengthening the leadership apparatus
On July 1, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province held a conference to announce the Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council on the establishment of specialized agencies under the People's Committee of Quang Tri province and the decisions of the Provincial People's Committee on personnel work.
The Provincial People's Committee appointed Dr., Meritorious Teacher Le Thi Huong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province after the merger.
At the same time, appoint Deputy Directors of the Department of Education and Training, including: Ms. Mai Thi Lien Giang, Mr. Ho Giang Long, Mr. Mai Huy Phuong, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hai, Mr. Phan Huu Huyen and Mr. Vo Van Minh.
On the same day, Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee - Mr. Tran Phong signed and issued a decision on the organizational structure of the Quang Tri Department of Education and Training.
Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province has 8 specialized and professional departments and equivalents, including the Department Office; Department of Organization and Personnel; Department of Planning and Finance; Department of Quality Management; Department of Preschool Education; Department of General Education; Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education; Department of Political Ideology - Student Affairs.
Besides, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri has 79 public service units under the Department.
Expanded school network
In recent years, the scale of the school and class network in Quang Tri has been planned and arranged in a streamlined and efficient manner, creating favorable conditions for students to go to school.
According to statistics, by the end of May 2025, Quang Tri province (old) had 386 public schools (10 schools less than the beginning of the term due to merger); 9 Vocational Education and Continuing Education Centers and 1 Provincial Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center. The total number of students in the province was more than 191,000.
Meanwhile, in the 2024-2025 school year, Quang Binh province (old) has 552 schools, preschool education, general education and continuing education facilities (176 preschools, 170 primary schools, 39 primary and secondary schools, 127 secondary schools, 6 secondary and high schools, 26 high schools, 7 vocational education and continuing education centers, 1 provincial continuing education center).
School facilities and educational equipment are invested in appropriately, in the direction of standardization, meeting teaching and learning requirements. The rate of solid classrooms at all levels increases.
The education sector mobilizes and effectively uses investment resources to strengthen facilities, teaching equipment, and build national standard schools.
Quang Tri province has only two schools that play a role in training high-quality students, including Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted and Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted.
Developing the teaching staff
The team of teachers and educational managers has developed in both quantity and quality, basically ensuring the requirements of teaching and organizing educational activities.
Quang Tri Province (old) has more than 13,170 managers, teachers, employees and contract workers.
The old Quang Binh province had nearly 18,337 managers, teachers and staff. Of which, high school had 1,956 people, middle school had 4,292 people, primary school had 5,809 people, and kindergarten had 6,280 people.
The training of managers and teachers has always been a focus of the education sector of the two provinces. The rate of teachers meeting and exceeding standards is high.
