The food website Taste Atlas has just published a list of the 76 best pork dishes in Asia. Among them, Vietnamese bun cha (grilled pork with vermicelli) ranks 4th on the list with 4.3 stars.
Bun cha is a dish consisting of grilled pork and rice noodles. It is a specialty of Hanoi . The dish combines three components: grilled pork served with fish sauce, a plate of rice noodles, and various green vegetables such as lettuce and cilantro.

This food website introduces bun cha, which is sold in many places throughout Vietnam, but Hanoi's bun cha remains the most famous. "Bun cha gained worldwide fame in 2016 when it appeared on the show Parts Unknown. In that show, host Anthony Bourdain enjoyed bun cha with former US President Barack Obama," Taste Atlas reports.
Some famous bun cha restaurants in Hanoi recommended by the website include Bun Cha Dac Kim, Bun Cha Binh Chung, and Bun Cha Huong Lien.
The list of 76 best pork dishes in Asia also includes braised pork belly, Hue-style grilled pork skewers, and broken rice with pork ribs.
According to Taste Atlas, nem lụi originates from Hue. This dish consists of minced pork grilled on lemongrass skewers. Other common ingredients include black pepper, pork skin, garlic, shallots, and fish sauce. The meat mixture is rolled into sausage shapes around a lemongrass stick, then brushed with oil and grilled over charcoal until slightly charred.

Spring rolls are typically served with vegetables, Vietnamese herbs, and rice paper wrappers, similar to Vietnamese spring rolls. The filling consists of grilled minced pork, and it's dipped in a sweet and sour peanut and sesame sauce. This dish is served as a main course or as a light afternoon snack.
Previously, Taste Atlas published a list of the 100 best cuisines in the world, with Vietnam ranking 22nd with an average score of 4.44/5. Top dishes mentioned included beef pho, bun cha, fried dough sticks, banh hoi, fried spring rolls, banh xeo, Hue beef noodle soup, and beef stew.
