Since February 24, 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has organized a team to inspect and evaluate hospital quality and survey patient and medical staff satisfaction in 2022 according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health and has just announced. The Department of Health assessed that the hospital quality score (54 public hospitals and 61 private hospitals) in 2022 in the city has many clear and consistent improvements.

This assessment score is assessed by the Department of Health based on the activities and work of hospitals in compliance with and implementation of regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Health, including the main contents: Hospital quality criteria, Epidemic prevention and control safety criteria, Surgical safety criteria, Laboratory quality assessment criteria, patient and medical staff satisfaction survey, assessment of the application of information technology in professional activities.

In the private hospital group, the average score increased by 9% compared to 2021. But in terms of ranking, if in 2021 there were 3 hospitals in the top 10 best quality hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, this year there are only 2 hospitals. Tam Anh General Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, although it was established less than 3 years ago (February 2021), has been in the Top 10 for 2 consecutive years. This year, it has increased from 10th place to 9th place, increasing both ranking and quality score, from 4.33 to 4.47 (on a 5-point scale).
