BYD’s 13 millionth NEV was produced at the Xiaomo manufacturing facility in the Shenzhen-Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone. The model marking the milestone is the YANGWANG U7, a high-end electric sedan.
According to an announcement from BYD, the company is now the first manufacturer in the world to reach the production of 13 million new energy vehicles. In the first half of 2025, the company achieved sales of more than 2.11 million vehicles in China, an increase of 31.5% over the same period last year. In the international market, sales reached 472,000 vehicles, an increase of 128.5%.

In Vietnam, BYD officially entered the market in July 2024. After one year of operation, the company has introduced 7 NEV models, including sedans, hatchbacks, MPVs and SUVs, to reach different customer groups. Some notable models include BYD HAN, SEAL, DOLPHIN, ATTO 3 and SEALION 8.
Along with the products, BYD is also investing in expanding its distribution and service system in Vietnam. As of July 2025, the company has established more than 30 showrooms, service centers and a network of charging stations nationwide.

The production of the 13 millionth vehicle is considered an important step for BYD, in the context of the strong growth of the global electric vehicle market. The company said it will continue to expand its operations in key markets, including Vietnam, to promote the transition to environmentally friendly transportation.
