Mr. Le Thanh Nho (an employee of Khanh An Concrete Factory, the first person to discover the dolphin's body) said: "When I went to work in the morning, I saw the fish lying motionless, smelling bad, with many wounds on its body. After that, I reported it to the factory leaders and local authorities."

According to the minutes recorded at the scene, the dolphin was nearly 2.1m long, with many wounds on its body, including a deep wound on its back that matched the image of a dolphin with a spear that was discovered by people a few days ago on the Ganh Hao River.

The dolphin carcass was suspected to have been rescued from the Ganh Hao River earlier.

Because the dolphin's body was discovered at the Khanh An Concrete Factory wharf, the local authorities agreed to bury the dolphin in this area. The burial ensures environmental hygiene and is in accordance with folk customs.
