Ca Mau opens "U Minh Forest Fragrance" Festival

This morning (April 25), the People's Committee of U Minh district coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province to organize the opening ceremony of the "U Minh Forest Fragrance" Festival 2025 with the theme "Colors of U Minh Ha". This event is part of the province's "Ca Mau - Destination 2025" program.

Vice Chairman of U Minh District People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Liem, Head of the Organizing Committee, delivered the opening speech of the festival.

Attending the opening ceremony were Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province Nguyen Quoc Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the U Minh District Party Committee Pham Viet Phong, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Liem, leaders of communes and towns, and many businesses in the tourism sector.

Mr. Giang Hoang Hon, Director of Huong Tram Eco- tourism Site, Hamlet 16, Khanh An Commune, U Minh District received the 3-star OCOP certificate in 2024.

“U Minh Forest Fragrance 2025 aims to promote and introduce the district's potential and strengths through cultural, sports, tourism, culinary and commercial activities to domestic and foreign tourists, creating conditions for businesses to meet, connect, expand links, cooperate in developing trade and tourism, attract investment in developing product brands, and enhance competitiveness with localities in the province”, Vice Chairman of U Minh District People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Liem emphasized in his opening speech of the festival.

This year's "U Minh Forest Fragrance" festival takes place for 5 days, from April 25-29, 2025 with many activities, in which the highlight of the festival is the opening of the "Countryside Market", demonstration of processing, display of the largest fish sauce hotpot in Vietnam and activities displaying typical products of U Minh, organizing sports festivals, folk games associated with the river region, organizing an open composite hull race on Cai Tau River, an individual bicycle race for men aged 51 and over, distance of 40 km (starting in Ca Mau City and finishing in U Minh town), trade fair, activities to experience fruit gardens, Cai Tau strawberry gardens, weaving villages, experiences at U Minh Ha National Park, trekking through the forest for professional and grassroots forces.

In the solemn and proud atmosphere of the historic April days, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, U Minh district presented 10 gifts to policy families in the district.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the bustling "Countryside Market" session recreated the buying and selling of agricultural and aquatic products, traditional cakes, cuisine, and handicrafts of Ca Mau, attracting many visitors to visit and experience.
