Ca Mau inaugurates the "Fragrance of U Minh Forest" Festival.

This morning (April 25th), the People's Committee of U Minh district, in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, organized the opening ceremony of the "U Minh Forest Fragrance" Festival 2025 with the theme "Colors of U Minh Ha". This event is part of the province's "Ca Mau - Destination 2025" program.

Nguyen Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of the U Minh District People's Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee, delivered the opening speech for the festival.

Attending the opening ceremony of the festival were Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province; Mr. Pham Viet Phong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the U Minh District Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee; leaders of communes and towns; and a large number of businesses in the tourism sector.

Mr. Giang Hoang Hon, Director of Huong Tram Ecotourism Site, Hamlet 16, Khanh An Commune, U Minh District, received the OCOP 3-star certificate for 2024.

Nguyen Quoc Thanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, presented flowers to congratulate the "Huong Tram U Minh Tourist Destination".

“The U Minh Forest Festival 2025 aims to promote and introduce the potential and strengths of the district through cultural, sports, tourism, culinary, and commercial activities to tourists inside and outside the province, creating conditions for businesses to meet, connect, expand linkages, cooperate in developing trade and tourism, attract investment to develop product brands, and enhance competitiveness with other localities in the province,” emphasized Nguyen Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of the U Minh District People's Committee, in his opening speech at the festival.

"Huong Tram U Minh Tourist Destination," the venue for the 2025 "U Minh Forest Scent" Festival, themed "Colors of Lower U Minh."

This year's "U Minh Forest Scent" festival takes place over 5 days, from April 25-29, 2025, with many activities. The highlight of the festival is the opening of the "Rural Market," a demonstration of the processing and display of the largest fish sauce hotpot in Vietnam, and exhibitions of typical U Minh products. The festival also includes sports competitions, folk games related to the riverine region, an expanded composite boat race on the Cai Tau River, a men's individual cycling race for those aged 51 and over (40 km, starting in Ca Mau City and finishing in U Minh town), a trade fair, experiential activities in fruit orchards and Cai Tau strawberry gardens, traditional weaving villages, and trekking experiences in U Minh Ha National Park for both professional and amateur participants.

In the solemn and proud atmosphere of the historic April days, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, U Minh district presented 10 gifts to families entitled to preferential policies in the district.

Immediately following the opening ceremony was the bustling "Rural Market," recreating the buying and selling of agricultural and aquatic products, traditional cakes, cuisine, and handicrafts from the Ca Mau region, attracting many tourists to visit and experience.
