DNVN - Gia Rai Ward (Ca Mau) was established on the basis of merging 4 administrative units including: Ward 1, Ho Phong Ward, Phong Thanh Commune and Phong Thanh A Commune, with a total area of ​​104.60 km2, a population of 70,748 people, and three ethnic groups: Kinh, Hoa, and Khmer living together.

To the east, it borders Lang Tron ward; to the west, it borders Phong Thanh commune; to the south, it borders Long Dien and An Trach communes; and to the north, it borders Vinh Phuoc and Phong Hiep communes.
