You've returned to celebrate with your country.

The tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source, repaying gratitude" has been and continues to be highly promoted among all strata of our people. Every time Tet (Lunar New Year) comes around, thousands of martyrs' cemeteries across the country are renovated and beautified. Thousands of houses of compassion are donated to mothers and sisters who are relatives of martyrs and wounded soldiers.

We are immensely proud that, within today's mighty People's Armed Forces, there are many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of heroes, martyrs, and wounded soldiers, living and fighting following the noble example of their parents, contributing to the glorious tradition of "The fathers' generation before, the sons' generation after / Have become comrades marching together." It is the combined strength of the entire Party, the entire People, and the entire Army that allows the Vietnamese Fatherland to endure and continue its long march towards building a prosperous and happy country.

Overwhelmed with emotion as he visited the martyrs' cemetery to light incense at the end of the year in tribute to the heroic martyrs, journalist and poet Nguyen Hong Vinh hastily jotted down a few lines of heartfelt feelings. We respectfully present the poem:

YOU GUYS COME HOME TO REJOICE WITH THE COUNTRY

Nguyen Hong Vinh

I went to light incense at the cemetery.

The last day of the year was windy.

The banyan tree remained bare, its branches dry and withered.

Perhaps the flowers will only bloom after the fallen soldiers return?!

The field behind the ice-white water

The soil is soaking up, waiting for the day to be sown with rice seedlings.

Then green rice will fill the villages and communes.

And the country road is lined with peach blossoms and other flowers…

As Tet approaches, the villages and hamlets resound with joyful songs.

We are grateful to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the Fatherland.

To have a big house and a comfortable life today...

Ships carrying rice crossed the ocean.

Your children and grandchildren are scattered throughout the country.

Working together to open up roads reclaimed from the sea.

In the formation of dignified green-uniformed soldiers.

Worthy of being a father, a brother who sacrificed himself for his country!

May the departed soul rest in peace.

The land, the sky, the sea, the forests—you left behind.

Airports and factories are springing up everywhere.

Any evil force that dares to touch them will be annihilated!

Unity of purpose generates strength from here.

Their exemplary lives serve as encouragement and inspiration.

The desire to get rich and overcome challenges.

Tighten the formation, and continue on the long journey.

We are happy to welcome you back, brothers and sisters.

Enjoy the New Year's Eve celebration with dazzling fireworks.

The spring festival was bustling with activity.

At the village square, on the day we bid farewell to our fallen comrades…
