After merging with Ho Chi Minh City, localities in the old Ba Ria-Vung Tau area have become key tourist areas in the East of the City.
With convenient infrastructure connections and rich tourism resources, this place is attracting a large number of tourists with a variety of products, meeting the needs of relaxation, exploration and experience in the summer of 2025.
Room occupancy rate at peak, many tours and combos attract customers
This summer, tourist destinations in the old Ba Ria-Vung Tau region continue to be the top destinations for domestic and foreign tourists. The beaches stretching from Vung Tau to Ho Tram are always crowded with tourists. Records in coastal areas such as Vung Tau, Long Hai, Ho Tram show that the occupancy rate of accommodation rooms on weekdays reaches 70-80% and is often "full" on weekends, with room bookings lasting until the end of August 2025.
Mr. Tran Tuan Vinh, General Manager of Angsana & Dhawa Ho Tram, said: "We have invested in infrastructure and trained staff to ensure the best and most stable service quality. Each employee is a tourism ambassador, bringing the best experience to visitors."
Travel agencies and tourism companies in the area are stepping up the design of unique tours, exploiting the typical beauty of the locality such as the lighthouse, the statue of Christ, Bai Sau, Bai Truoc, etc. At the same time, many new sightseeing routes are being built to combine attractive destinations such as Ho Tram and Binh Chau. Travel agencies also offer all-inclusive resort combos including bus tickets, hotels and meals at local restaurants; along with attractive promotions, tour discounts for large groups, family guests or free service vouchers. Tourism businesses also pay special attention to improving service quality from consulting, booking, customer care to tour guides to bring the best experience to tourists.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Ban, Secretary of the Vung Tau Ward Party Committee, said that the ward identifies its responsibility in maintaining a clean environment and clean streets, while proactively creating unique tourism products to accompany the city.
In the period of 2025-2030, the ward aims to coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City to develop 2-3 international-class tourism products. This goal requires the synchronous participation of the government, businesses and people, aiming to turn Vung Tau into a high-class tourist destination, clearly demonstrated through infrastructure, service style, as well as the quality of tourism, cultural, sports and resort products.
To increase competitiveness in attracting visitors, in addition to taking advantage of the sea and fresh, pristine climate, businesses are constantly investing in facilities, improving service quality, and organizing more cultural and culinary spaces to meet the needs of tourists.

Exploiting the advantages of coastal tourism
After becoming a coastal locality of Ho Chi Minh City, Phuoc Hai is taking advantage of its advantages to develop tourism in a sustainable direction. To welcome guests during the peak summer season, tourism businesses in Phuoc Hai have carefully prepared everything from facilities, human resources to ensuring security, safety and environmental sanitation. Thanks to that, most tourist areas and hotels have achieved 100% room occupancy on weekends, and 50-60% on weekdays. Visitors to Phuoc Hai are not only families but also companies and factories organizing vacations for their employees.
Mr. Vo Huynh Ngoan, Sales and Marketing Manager of Lan Rung Beach Resort Phuoc Hai, shared that after the April 30 holiday, tourism entered the peak summer season.
"This year, the unit's summer guests have achieved the sales and room occupancy targets. The number of guests is spread evenly from weekdays to weekends. Grasping the summer trend this year, the unit has launched many promotional programs and a package to pick up customers from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to the accommodation facility to reach many customer groups. These efforts aim to optimize the experience of visitors when coming to Phuoc Hai. At the same time, the unit takes advantage of the "golden time" of summer and the National Day holiday on September 2 to promote the local tourism industry.
In addition, the merger of Ba Ria-Vung Tau (old) with Ho Chi Minh City is an opportunity for Lan Rung Beach Resort to enhance its brand, reaching many new customers from Ho Chi Minh City and the international tourist market.
The tourism industry in localities in the old Ba Ria-Vung Tau region continues to promote local strengths through the development and diversification of product types, focusing on improving the quality of tours and typical tourist routes. Efforts in organizing events, promoting communication, and promoting local images have contributed to stimulating tourism demand, attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists.
Tourism businesses have also proactively developed all-inclusive resort combo packages, diverse promotional programs, along with constantly improving service quality. This is an important factor helping the tourism industry in the old Ba Ria-Vung Tau area achieve positive results during the peak summer season this year./.
