The competition between the two teams is considered "equal" when both PVF and The Cong Viettel have strong squads, many players have been in national youth teams such as Bao Long, Ba Dat, Quang Truong (PVF) or Manh Hung, Thanh Dat, Cong Phuong (The Cong Viettel ).

Notably, Thanh Dat and Cong Phuong - two players who just won the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship with U23 Vietnam - were put on the field from the start, contributing to the match taking place with high professional quality.

Right after the opening whistle, the two teams deployed a fierce battle in the midfield. With experienced midfielders, both PVF and The Cong Viettel focused on controlling the game from midfield, causing the first half to not have many notable finishing situations.

However, in that stalemate, PVF unexpectedly created a turning point. In the 22nd minute, defender Bao Long made a pass along the sideline for Ngoc Tai to run down the touchline. No one expected that this player's seemingly harmless cross would go straight into The Cong Viettel's goal, becoming the opening goal for PVF, surprising the entire opposing defense.

In the second half, The Cong Viettel pushed up their formation to find an equalizer. In the 53rd minute, Thai Bao created a pass for Huu Tuan to enter the penalty area, but the striker's shot missed the post by a hair. The consecutive missed shots left the army team regretful, while PVF proactively retreated deep, organizing a disciplined multi-layered defense.

In the 88th minute, the most dangerous opportunity came to The Cong Viettel when Trung Hieu made a header from outside the penalty area. However, PVF goalkeeper Quang Truong flew to push the ball over the crossbar in a miraculous save. Not stopping there, in the last minute of extra time, Hoang Khanh fired a decisive shot but was once again successfully blocked by the PVF goalkeeper.

The notable situation that ended the match was the red card of PVF captain Ba Dat in the 90+5 minute after a tactical foul. However, with a high level of concentration, PVF maintained the score of 1-0 until the referee blew the final whistle.

This victory helps U21 PVF officially step up to the championship of the 2025 National U21 Championship. This is a worthy achievement for the scientific playing style, bravery and resilient fighting spirit of the young, potential team.
