Vietnamese concert attracts tens of thousands of audiences in the US
The two nights of Anh trai say hi concerts held in Las Vegas (USA) on July 26-27 (local time) received the attention of fans. Each night, the show attracted 7,000 spectators, filling the stands at Planet Hollywood Theater.
In this "overseas trip", the "brothers" only had 26 artists and were missing MC Tran Thanh, but that did not cool down the show. Hits such as: Catch me if you can, Sincerity, Horned Head, Waves Breaking the Shore, I'm Thinking About You, Walk, Halo, A-List Star ... resounded on stage in the US, moving both the audience and the artists.

Singer RHYDER said that this concert is 20 times larger than a small show he performed in Las Vegas before. Singer and rapper HURRYKNG confided: "People cannot imagine a kid from Hiep Thanh market, being on TV, and then flying straight to Las Vegas."
HIEUTHUHAI also shared something that caused a stir on social media: "Today, being able to sing the latest songs composed by my brothers, in Vietnamese, right in the middle of Las Vegas, in a big theater and everyone singing together - that is my most special moment this year. A moment of pride for the Vietnamese language, for the Vietnamese people."
Many audiences and experts were impressed by the milestone of the Anh trai say hi concert , which first went international. Previously, shows by Vietnamese singers overseas were often organized for overseas Vietnamese on a small scale. The Anh trai say hi concert in Las Vegas marked the first time a large concert produced by a Vietnamese crew was organized independently, professionally communicated, sold tickets, and brought to the world's leading market.

Audiences said that the venue for this concert is not as large as the outdoor areas previously held in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi , but the program still invested carefully in stage, sound, and lighting according to international standards.
Some audiences shared on the social network Thread: "This is the 4th time going to a concert in the US, but the first time experiencing a Vietnamese music concert. Excited, proud, and moved because something that seemed impossible happened"; "Hearing Vietnamese songs resound in such a faraway place, that is a very beautiful highlight. Many audiences flew from other states, flew from other countries but cheered enthusiastically. The program lacked an MC, so the singers had to lead and think "piecemeal". You guys deserve to be recognized"...
Talking to Dan Tri reporter, media expert Hong Quang Minh said: "In my opinion, bringing the Anh trai say hi concert to Las Vegas is not an impromptu move. This is a strategic and calculated milestone.
Bringing the entire Vietnamese crew and program to perform in the US, especially at an iconic location like Planet Hollywood, shows a very clear mindset: We are ready to bring Vietnamese music products to the world, not to please the overseas Vietnamese community, but to establish international stature and standards."
Mr. Hoang Huy Thinh - founder of a famous music website - expressed his opinion: "Bringing the Anh trai say hi concert to the US satisfies an important thing, which is the need to enjoy culture and entertainment of Vietnamese audiences living abroad. They love Vietnamese music, need to listen to new music, and experience the performances of today's young generation of Vietnam."
From suspicion of "sold tickets" to earning 1.5 million USD after 1 hour
Before the successful concert Anh trai say hi in Las Vegas, there were many doubts about the ability to sell tickets for Vietnamese music shows in foreign markets.
Some people are concerned that the decision to hold the show in the US, instead of a familiar location in Vietnam, is a risky one. VIP tickets costing up to 2,500 USD (65 million VND) were also said to be difficult to sell because of their high prices, not affordable for young audiences.
When the organizer announced the concert would take place in the US, many people were concerned about the program's ability to sell tickets (Photo: Organizer).
Mr. Michael Nguyen - representative of the unit coordinating the organization of the concert Anh trai say hi in the US - admitted that bringing the concert to the land of the flag was not easy. The organizers faced countless skeptical comments, even saying that the show would "lose tickets" or was a "scam" program...
"But there is one thing that those people did not expect, that is, the young generation today is too smart and brave. You do not let anyone control your thoughts. You have protected your own passion and happiness with a decisive action: Buying tickets to support on the first day.
In just 1 hour, the ticket sales on Ticketmaster exceeded 1.5 million USD. A historic number for Vietnamese showbiz, written by you. The history of Vietnamese music has changed. I myself have changed, when I saw a generation daring to dream and daring to do," said Mr. Michael Nguyen.

Mr. Hong Quang Minh commented that the Planet Hollywood theater being filled with about 7,000 spectators each night at the recent concert series is considered a positive sign for the Vietnamese performance industry. According to the expert, this is the first time "a domestic concert abroad has been carried out to the end, in the right international way".
"It is an unprecedented milestone not only in terms of money, but more importantly, the ticket distribution system is integrated through Ticketmaster - a global platform that is very selective about Vietnamese partners. Appearing on it shows that the concert is not a "show for Vietnamese people in the US", this is an entertainment product that can compete equally with international programs.
1.5 million USD in 1 hour reflects the purchasing power, trust and expectation in Vietnamese artists when bringing the right standards to the world stage. It opens up the belief that Vietnamese artists, if they have a long-term orientation, decent products and professional working methods, can completely attract the international market not through "homeland affection" but through real quality," Mr. Hong Quang Minh analyzed.
In particular, the culture of supporting idols of Vietnamese audiences was also commented on for its professionalism after two nights of Anh trai say hi concert in Las Vegas. Many fans are willing to spend large sums of money on plane tickets, concert tickets to fly from many different places, converging in the "world entertainment capital", together expressing their love "across borders".
Before the concert, fans of the artists carried out many support activities such as renting music trucks, running LED screens on the streets, and renting signs to promote their idols.
Many opinions also predict that if the organizers choose a venue with a larger capacity than Planet Hollywood Theater, the possibility of filling the seats is still very positive.
Regarding this, Mr. Hong Quang Minh commented that the crew chose Planet Hollywood Theater based on calculations of capacity, combined with location, stage aesthetics and the prestige of the venue.
"This is a very famous event venue, located right in the heart of Las Vegas, gathering international-class shows. When a Vietnamese artist performs there, they perform in front of 7,000 people, affirming their personal brand on the global performance map. The story here is "location speaks for you" - the location speaks for class and vision.
If we choose a larger venue, I believe we can still sell enough tickets, but we will most likely lose the focus on experience, interaction, and quality of the performance that the crew is trying to build. Scale is sometimes not as important as the emotions the audience brings home after the show," commented expert Hong Quang Minh.
"No longer a pipe dream"
In recent years, Vietnamese singers have begun to boldly and proactively organize shows abroad.
In 2024, singer Ha Anh Tuan will be the pioneer in bringing the Sketch a Rose concert series abroad, from Singapore to Australia. In particular, in October, Ha Anh Tuan will hold a concert at the Dolby Theatre, the "artistic heart" of Hollywood, Los Angeles (USA), where the annual Oscar awards ceremony takes place and is also the "dream" stage for many artists.
Experts say that Ha Anh Tuan's initial steps, along with the new milestone that the Anh trai say hi concert has just created, demonstrate the aspiration of Vietnamese artists and Vietnamese crews in bringing their homeland's music to the big stage. These recent milestones also show the Vietnamese people's ability to self-produce, organize and develop cultural entertainment content of international standards.
Ha Anh Tuan performed at the concert "Sketch a Rose" held at the Sydney Opera House in October 2024.
Expert Hoang Huy Thinh believes that exporting domestic concerts to the international market is not a "big ambition" or "wanting to conquer the world", but rather demonstrates the spirit of daring to try and dare to do of individuals and units in the Vietnamese performing industry. From the initial small steps, larger marks and milestones will gradually accumulate.
"After the daring "hide and seek" game of the unit behind the concert Anh trai say hi , I think the Vietnamese music industry will have a premise and model to learn from. In the future, such events can continue, if we have a clear strategy, a professional team and a communication plan to spread domestically and internationally.
In addition, bringing Vietnamese concerts abroad requires the support of reliable organizing partners. According to the lessons of Korean music groups and singers, when they organize tours around the world, in each country they stop, they need to coordinate with reputable units with international standard operating and production systems. From there, the parties build a long-term partnership ecosystem in neighboring regions and around the world," said Mr. Hoang Huy Thinh.

Expert Hong Quang Minh also believes that the model of bringing live shows of Vietnamese singers to the international stage has great potential. However, there are also problems and challenges that need to be handled skillfully.
"Ha Anh Tuan is an artist who understands the audience deeply and is very clear-headed when choosing an international strategy. The important thing is that he does not "export music", but "exports musical experiences". That is a pioneering mindset. This model has great potential because the Vietnamese community abroad is very large, has a need for high-quality entertainment but is rarely served to the right taste. In addition, Vietnamese culture, when handled skillfully, will have enough depth to create emotions for foreigners.
The biggest difficulties are still operations, costs, international standards of production and barriers to communication and promotion in the local area. But if we choose the right niche market and keep our promises to the audience, I believe we can open up a separate market for Vietnamese music in international cities," the expert commented.
Audiences and experts also emphasized that what makes Vietnam different from Korea or European and American countries is the identity, culture, and national spirit in each product.
Expert Hong Quang Minh also added that 5 years ago, the dream of "exporting Vietnamese music experiences abroad" was unrealistic for him. However, now, from the Sketch a Rose concert to the Anh trai say hi concert , he believes that this is feasible and needs long-term planning and orientation.
"As long as Vietnamese artists know clearly what they bring to the world, songs, emotions, stories and identity. If every artist seriously thinks about performing internationally as part of their career, not just a one-time "trip", then audiences in the US, Korea, Japan, Australia or Europe can absolutely reserve seats, time and hearts for Vietnamese music," said Mr. Minh.
