The quality of OCOP products is increasing.
The fair is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , Hanoi People's Committee, Vietnam Cooperative Alliance with the support of ministries, branches and localities nationwide, domestic and foreign trade promotion organizations. The fair is also attended by ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic agencies, international organizations, foreign business associations, representatives of distribution channels, importers, and purchasing delegations.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan delivered the opening speech.
Speaking at the opening of the Fair, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan said that with its diverse advantages and potential in natural resources, climate and unique culture, Vietnam is not only successful in exporting agricultural products, but is also a country with many specialties, products and traditional craft villages, bearing indigenous cultural values, most clearly demonstrated by the image of Vietnamese OCOP products.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan emphasized that the “One Commune One Product” (OCOP) program has been playing a key role in affirming the value of rural products, helping products from all over the country not only get closer to domestic consumers but also reach out to international markets. OCOP products not only have cultural and traditional characteristics but also meet high quality standards, suitable for the needs of domestic and international consumers.

“In recent years, the Vietnamese business community has increasingly focused on developing products according to OCOP standards. This has had a positive impact on rural economic development, contributing to the transformation from small-scale agricultural production to production in the direction of value chain linkage, according to standards, regulations, traceability and market demand; unleashing the potential of land, products, comparative advantages, especially regional cultural values to form integrated OCOP products. Many OCOP products have been innovated and created to improve quality, access export markets, even to demanding markets with high value,” said Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan.
According to Deputy Minister Tan, in order to continue implementing Decision 919/QD-TTg dated August 1, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the One Commune One Product Program, promoting economic development in line with the goals and orientations of the Goods Import-Export Strategy to 2030, implementing trade promotion activities to support OCOP entities to connect with international partners and businesses to promote exports is extremely necessary.
Representatives of ministries, branches, embassies, diplomatic agencies, international organizations, and foreign business associations attended the Fair.
Therefore, the VIETNAM OCOPEX 2025 Fair is organized to support Vietnamese enterprises, cooperatives, and OCOP entities to introduce and promote products, seek partners, and develop markets, not only domestically but also internationally through opportunities to connect, exchange, and cooperate directly with trade promotion organizations, enterprises, and foreign importers. At the same time, OCOP entities also have the opportunity to exchange and learn about the strict requirements of the world market and study the possibility of expanding export scale.
In addition to direct trading activities at the Fair, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has organized the Fair on a digital platform, to facilitate businesses and international importers to conduct online trading activities, which is a new feature of this year's Fair.
“I believe that, with the spirit of innovation, OCOP entities will continuously improve, enhance product quality, develop brands and gradually conquer the most demanding markets in the world, affirming that traditional Vietnamese products are fully capable of competing with foreign products in both quality and design” – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan emphasized.
Awakening community strength, "reviving" traditional products
On Hanoi's side, speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee said that this year's fair is an event within the national trade promotion program 2025. This is a vivid demonstration of the attention and drastic participation of all levels and sectors in promoting OCOP product brands to the international market. Within the framework of the Fair, Hanoi organized the "Hanoi OCOP product export promotion booth".

Mr. Quyen informed that the products on display come from more than 20 businesses in the city, carefully selected, not only ensuring high quality, but also focusing on packaging design, product stories and the ability to meet international standards. Many key products and specialties of Hanoi will be present such as: Me Tri green rice, Ba Vi milk, traditional confectionery, along with high-end handicrafts such as My Duc silk, Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan, Quat Dong embroidery, Bat Trang ceramics, Ha Thai lacquerware, etc.
At the same time, the City also organized 2 Forum and Conference programs to support the development of Hanoi's handicraft industry, contributing to enriching the sideline activities of the Fair of the Organizing Committee.

The “One Commune One Product” (OCOP) program has become an important foundation to promote rural economic development, awaken the internal strength of the community, thereby transforming tens of thousands of traditional products. Currently, Hanoi has evaluated and classified 3,317 OCOP products (the leading locality and accounting for 21.3% of the country), including 6 5-star products, 22 potential 5-star products, 1,571 4-star products and 1,718 3-star products.
“Hanoi City identifies OCOP as not only a rural product, but also a cultural product, a bridge between tradition and modernity, between identity and integration. In the new period, when international economic integration is increasingly deep, OCOP cannot stop at the village scale but must continue to reach out to regional and international markets ” – Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen said.

Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen also believes that through this Fair, Hanoi Vietnam OCOP entities will find potential partners, sign valuable contracts, access new markets and have more motivation to innovate production thinking.
“The city hopes that businesses, cooperatives, and OCOP entities will take full advantage of this opportunity to learn, cooperate, promote, and develop. Trade promotion organizations, industry associations, and management agencies need to continue to provide strong support in terms of technology, capital, technology transfer, packaging improvement, traceability, e-commerce promotion, and digital transformation. Hanoi City is committed to always accompanying businesses, cooperatives, and OCOP entities on the journey to elevate Vietnamese products,” affirmed Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen.
