According to Ifeng , the performance called "Electric Lightning" performed at Laoshan Hall is considered a cultural and technological phenomenon of this summer.
As the sky darkens, to classical music, two performers stand on special equipment, creating blue and purple electric arcs that continuously collide and move like fiery snakes writhing in mid-air.
Live lightning show attracts millions of views at festival in China ( Video : South China Morning Post).
More than just a visual spectacle, “Electric Lightning” is a combination of high voltage technology, modern mechanics and multi-dimensional sound effects. The artists wear insulated costumes, performing movements in sync with the rhythm of the music , creating a vivid experience as if “thunder is dancing”.
According to Beijing Daily , the performance uses Tesla coils (high-voltage transformers) to create high-voltage arc currents that surround the actors' bodies.
From the very first days of the festival, this performance became a hot keyword on short video platforms and Chinese social networks. Many people left comments: "Is this real lightning?", "Never seen lightning so obedient!"...
Meanwhile, a local exclaimed in the video: "I have never seen lightning so close and so vivid!"

The show takes place four times every night, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., every half hour. Visitors often linger to record, take photos, and share these strange moments online.
According to Chinese media, the performance "Lightning and Electric" symbolizes the new development direction of tourism and culture in Laoshan in particular and Qingdao in general.
In commentary on Sohu and Ifeng , reporters commented that technology is no longer just a backstage support tool, but has become a creative pole that goes hand in hand with art. Like the two poles of a Tesla coil, art and technology are intersecting to create the most brilliant “creative sparks”.
The 2025 Qingdao International Beer Festival will take place from July 18 to August 10 at multiple locations in Qingdao City, with cultural, culinary, entertainment and technological activities serving millions of domestic and international visitors.
