Hanoi cafes are adorned with red and yellow flags to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.
For several days now, a cafe in the Duong Noi urban area (Ha Dong ward, Hanoi) has attracted the attention of customers and passersby because it has created a space that evokes memories of the historic September 2nd, 1945.
The entrance area was impressive, featuring numerous red flags with yellow stars of various sizes, along with two banners displaying images of President Ho Chi Minh and excerpts from the Declaration of Independence, which established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam 80 years ago.
A unique corner inside the cafe is decorated as an "Independence Booth," featuring numerous paintings depicting the old revolutionary movement.
Old items and mementos such as telephones, thermos flasks, steam irons, etc., have been meticulously collected and displayed by the owner, creating a nostalgic atmosphere.
Ms. Nguyen Bao Ngan, the owner of the restaurant, said that after more than 3 years of operation, this is the first time the restaurant has invested on such a large scale in a formal and elegant space. The preparation process lasted nearly 2 months, from gathering materials to developing ideas. “ The research and finalization of the design took the most time. All the spaces and corners were designed in-house; we didn't hire any outside workers. Construction took about 2 days .”
The radio station's corner evokes the moment when the whole nation listened to President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence, and this historic event was also broadcast live to millions of people.
