To ensure the program is organized safely and successfully to serve the people celebrating the Lunar New Year, creating a vibrant festive atmosphere, contributing to strongly promoting the image of Hanoi as a civilized, modern, and culturally rich city, and enhancing the attractiveness of the Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian area, a symbolic destination of the city, the Hanoi People's Committee assigns specific tasks to relevant departments, agencies, and localities.
Accordingly, the Department of Culture and Sports has been assigned to coordinate with Song Trang Media Joint Stock Company (ST Group) to implement the program. The program, themed “Countdown 2026 - Open Real Connections,” will be held from 7 PM to midnight on December 31, 2025, at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake, with 100% of the funding coming from social contributions.
The Department of Culture and Sports is responsible for overseeing the implementation of program content and detailed plans to ensure compliance with approved documents; managing visual propaganda and promotion activities such as banners, billboards, advertising boards, standees, leaflets, LED displays, and media coverage of the program.
At the same time, the Department strengthened its guidance and coordination of communication through mass media about the international event, promoting the image of Hanoi - Vietnam to international friends; and providing necessary regulations and information about the program for audience members participating in the event.
The City People's Committee also requested the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department to direct and guide the city's media agencies to strengthen propaganda and reporting on the program.
The Department of Tourism is tasked with coordinating and directing businesses, organizations, and individuals providing tourism services in the city to update information about the event and use effective methods to introduce the event to tourists; ensuring the quality of tourism products and services, including accommodation, travel, shopping, dining, and entertainment.
The People's Committee of Hoan Kiem Ward shall develop and implement plans to ensure security and order, traffic safety, fire prevention and control, rescue and relief, healthcare, environmental sanitation, and urban beautification before, during, and after the event, in accordance with the scope of its delegated management responsibilities.
