In particular, this year also marks the 60th anniversary of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc's self-immolation, so activities to celebrate Buddha's birthday are held in parallel, blending with events dedicated to Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc.

Providing more information about the activities to celebrate Buddha's birthday and commemorate Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc, Most Venerable Thich Tri Chon, Member of the Executive Council, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Buddhist Culture Committee, said: "The event of the 2567th Buddha's birthday and the 60th anniversary of the monk's self-immolation is an important and outstanding activity of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City at the beginning of the 10th term (2022-2027). The symbol of 60 years and seven golden lotuses lifting jade heels to welcome the Tathagata is shown on 6 pillars and 7 lotus flowers placed on the main altar. Throughout the activities, there will be a Buddha procession on the evening of the 8th of the 4th lunar month, a flower car parade on the night of the 9th and a night of Buddhist art performance with the sacred fire shining brightly on the golden history on the evening of the 10th of the 4th lunar month. All in the spirit of offering to the Triple Gem and solemnly honoring oneself".
