These days, in Cho Moi commune, life is gradually returning to normal. Mr. Tran Manh Cuong, Chairman of Cho Moi Commune People's Committee, said: In the face of complicated developments of storms and floods, the Commune People's Committee has directed and mobilized the police, military and "four on-site" forces to rescue and support people in isolated areas, especially villages bordering Cau River and Chu River, to evacuate assets and people to safe places.
In agricultural production, the commune authorities have proactively propagated and instructed people to focus on overcoming the damage in a practical way. For areas of rice, corn, and crops that were flooded but still had the ability to recover, the communes mobilized militia forces, organizations, and people to support households in rebuilding fallen trees, adding fertilizer, and draining water quickly so that the trees could take root and recover. Areas that were severely damaged and could not be replanted in time were counted to propose support for plant and animal varieties for the next crop.
At the same time, local authorities coordinate with the agricultural sector to inspect and provide technical guidance on post-flood crop care, disinfect and treat the environment to limit disease outbreaks.
Some small-scale livestock models affected by landslides are being restored; many households have proactively reinforced barns, cleaned livestock areas, and protected livestock and poultry.
Mr. Ma Quoc Viet, Vice Chairman of Van Lang Commune People's Committee, said: The commune has mobilized businesses to support road opening for people. In the long term, the commune has a plan to review all households at high risk of landslides, mobilize support for people to move out of dangerous areas; at the same time, propose timely support for households with heavy damage. The commune is also considering suitable land funds to arrange, helping people soon have safe housing.
