This feature, which filters out spam messages, was available in iOS 14, but in iOS 16.2 it has been upgraded with additional filters to make it easier for users to see what those messages are. Therefore, to have all the features, please update your phone's software to iOS 16.2.
How to filter spam messages on iPhone
Step 1: After your phone has been officially updated to iOS 16.2, open your phone's Settings > Messages > Find the Message Filtering section and turn on the switch for Filter from unknown senders .
Step 2: The iPhone will automatically detect if the message is spam and categorize it into one of three categories : Known senders , Unknown senders , or Junk .
With spam messages, you won't receive notifications. Therefore, you sometimes need to check your iPhone's spam folder, because there are times when your phone incorrectly identifies important messages and puts them in the spam folder.
This tool isn't perfectly effective right now, but it's still a useful tool, and you can try using it and wait for future updates to see if it works better.
We hope you successfully implement this and reduce the number of spam messages or junk messages sent to your phone.
