On August 16, workers of Aviation Technical Services Joint Stock Company rushed to complete the installation of IL-14 aircraft with registration number VN-C482 at the National Exhibition Center ( Hanoi ).
IL-14 aircraft with serial number VN-C482 was the first IL-14 aircraft of the 919th Transport Air Force Regiment, the predecessor of today's 919th Flight Group. This was one of five aircraft provided by the Soviet Government to Vietnam in early 1957. The aircraft was officially put into operation in 1958.
Among them, VN-C482 has special significance as it was given by the Soviet Government to President Ho Chi Minh , used as a special plane for flights of the President and Party and State leaders during the resistance war against the US to save the country.
IL-14 with serial number VN-C482 has undergone two restorations, the first in 2001 at Regiment 918. The second restoration of the aircraft was completed on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Uncle Ho's departure to find a way to save the country (June 5, 1911 - June 5, 2011).
After restoration, the outer shell was remade from corrugated iron. This material can be clearly seen on the wing during the assembly process. Currently, the IL-14 aircraft that once served President Ho Chi Minh has become a special historical artifact of the Vietnamese civil aviation industry.
The aircraft was transported from the Air Force Museum to the exhibition venue for the "80-year journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" on the evening of August 14. Currently, a team of workers with the support of a crane is installing the wing part of the aircraft that was previously disassembled for ease of transportation.
At the 'Aspiration for the Sky' section of the exhibition, the technical team installed, cleaned and completed the display, serving visitors on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day.
Right next to it, an Airbus A320 is also being assembled, preparing for the upcoming tour.
Inside the National Exhibition Center hall, workers are speeding up the completion of the booths of the "80-year journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" exhibition. The indoor and outdoor exhibition spaces here are arranged on an area of nearly 260,000m2, according to large content areas such as: General exhibition area; Green economic zone, Clean energy...
This is an activity of special significance, honoring history, introducing the outstanding achievements of the Party, State and People in the process of protecting, building and developing the country over the past 80 years. At the same time, it is an opportunity to promote the image of a dynamic and innovative Vietnam to all classes of people and the international community.
The exhibition "80 years of the journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" will display and introduce the country's outstanding achievements in 80 years of construction and development in key areas.
