After the merger, Ho Tram commune was established from Phuoc Tan commune, Phuoc Thuan commune and Phuoc Buu town (formerly belonging to Xuyen Moc district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province). With a natural area of over 94 km² and a population of nearly 52,000 people, Ho Tram commune quickly positioned itself as a key area for developing high-quality services and tourism in the new Ho Chi Minh City.

Possessing a special terrain with adjacent forests and seas, a mild climate, and more than 300 days of sunshine each year, Ho Tram is considered one of the coastal areas that fully converges the conditions to develop resort tourism , especially targeting the international market.

In addition, the locality has 11 projects under construction with an area of over 93 hectares, a total investment of nearly 6,000 billion VND and 6.8 million USD; 13 other projects are reviewing legal procedures, with an area of over 89 hectares and a total expected investment of over 516 billion VND.

In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, Ho Tram welcomed about 3 million visitors to visit, swim and relax. Of which, there were more than 915,000 international visitors, bringing in total tourism revenue estimated at more than 3,340 billion VND.

In addition to its natural strengths, Ho Tram's development momentum also comes from a series of large-scale investment projects. This is currently the commune with the largest number of 4-5 star hotels and resorts in Ho Chi Minh City. Notably, The Grand Ho Tram resort complex has just poured an additional 1 billion USD to develop a new subdivision, raising the total investment capital to 4 billion USD. The project expands by 35 hectares, including 5-star hotels, resort villas, casinos, entertainment centers, international conferences and exhibitions, providing more than 6,000 rooms, serving 18,000 visitors per day.

Ho Tram has an isolated location - separate from noisy residential areas and surrounded by blue sea and Phuoc Buu primeval forest of up to 11,000 hectares, creating a unique natural ecosystem, rarely found anywhere else.
Transport infrastructure is becoming a strategic lever for Ho Tram tourism. Along with the upcoming Long Thanh International Airport, key transport routes such as Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway and the 78km Vung Tau - Binh Chau coastal route are being invested in and expanded, helping to shorten travel time to this area.
In particular, the Ho Tram - Long Thanh International Airport expressway has been started, contributing to the completion of the connecting traffic network, opening up space for coastal urban development. When the connecting routes are completed, Ho Tram will have easier access to domestic and international visitors, promoting the development of the service - tourism industry towards international standards.

With its natural advantages, infrastructure and investment attraction, Ho Tram is gradually affirming its role as the new “capital” of sea tourism in Ho Chi Minh City after the merger, opening up a sustainable development direction for the entire southern coastal region.
