According to doctors at Can Tho Children's Hospital, to prevent dangerous complications caused by foreign objects in the airways, parents should take their children to the doctor if they see them coughing or wheezing for a long time.
In case a child coughs and chokes, if you do not know how to give first aid, you must immediately take them to the nearest medical facility. Parents should not try to clear the child's throat with their hands or foreign objects, as this may cause the foreign object to go deeper or cause damage to the child's throat.
