The complex developments in the military conflict in the Middle East are putting significant pressure on the global energy market, causing sharp fluctuations in gasoline and oil prices in many countries. Against this backdrop, localities across the country, including Can Tho City, have proactively implemented various solutions to ensure the supply of gasoline and oil, stabilize the domestic market, and contribute to maintaining energy security.
Increase inspections of retail gasoline and diesel fuel outlets to ensure a stable supply.
On the afternoon of March 10th, the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City, in coordination with the Market Management Sub-Department, conducted an inspection and survey of operations at several gas stations in the city's petroleum distribution system. The inspection revealed that gasoline sales at retail outlets remained stable, with a consistent supply of fuel, fully meeting the production and consumption needs of the people.

Strengthen inspections and surveys of operational activities in the area.
According to observations at many gas stations, the number of people buying gasoline and diesel fuel in recent days has tended to increase compared to before. However, the majority of the demand comes from agricultural production activities as many localities are entering the peak season for rice harvesting. Many households buy gasoline and diesel fuel in cans or drums to power machinery and vehicles for harvesting and transporting agricultural products.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ut, a resident of Nga Bay ward, said he remains confident about the local fuel supply. Despite fluctuations in the global energy market, purchasing fuel for daily life and production at local stores remains convenient, with no shortages occurring.

Can Tho is proactively implementing various solutions to ensure a stable supply of petroleum products.
Faced with the phenomenon of some customers purchasing in large quantities, some retailers have proactively regulated sales at different times to avoid hoarding or imbalances in supply. This measure is implemented flexibly to ensure that all citizens can access the fuel necessary for daily life and production.
Mr. Tran Van Han, owner of Hung Thanh 2 One-Member Limited Liability Company's gasoline retail store (Dai Thanh Ward), said that despite the volatile global energy market, the company maintains a stable supply and fully complies with regulations on storage and distribution. The retail system receives regular supplies, ensuring that it effectively serves the needs of consumers and the production activities of the business.
Businesses and regulators work together to maintain stability in the energy market.
During the inspection, Mr. Hua Truong Son, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City, stated that proactively monitoring the situation at gasoline stations helps management agencies promptly detect and handle emerging issues in the market. At the same time, gasoline businesses are required to continue maintaining a stable supply of goods and strictly comply with regulations on storage, distribution, and sales in accordance with the law.
During the inspection, the Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade also reminded the businesses to strengthen communication to ensure that people understand the fuel supply situation in the area, avoiding unnecessary hoarding due to anxiety. Cases that disrupt the supply, temporarily suspend sales without justifiable reasons or without the approval of the management agency will be strictly handled according to regulations.
In parallel with market management, the Can Tho City Market Management force has also been strengthened to inspect and control gasoline and diesel fuel business activities. Market management teams are required to closely monitor their areas and regularly inspect retail outlets to promptly detect and handle violations such as speculation, hoarding, selling at prices different from the listed price, or violations of regulations on gasoline and diesel fuel business.

The Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City and the Market Management Sub-Department are working closely together to maintain market stability.
In addition, the units also implement a daily rapid reporting system on the petroleum market situation in their areas to the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development - Ministry of Industry and Trade. Closely monitoring market developments helps the management agency have a basis to provide timely management solutions in case of fluctuations.
In the context of ongoing risks in the global energy market, proactively controlling supply, strengthening market management, and closely coordinating between relevant agencies and businesses are crucial in helping Can Tho City maintain the stability of its petroleum market.
