Da Nang Airport speaks out about priority lane, price 100,000 VND/trip

(Dan Tri) - The Director of Da Nang International Airport affirmed that the collection of service fees is in accordance with regulations. This service does not affect the supply capacity and service quality.

On December 2, Mr. Phan Kieu Hung, Director of Da Nang International Airport, said that from January 1, 2025, the collection of fees for passenger services using priority lanes at the security screening point of Terminal T1 will be officially implemented.

Passengers subject to the fee collection are CIP passengers (business class pick-up and drop-off service) of Vietnamese airlines, business class passengers or equivalent of airlines, passengers who are members of the airlines' loyalty programs and are allowed to enter priority lanes at the screening checkpoint.

According to Mr. Hung, some airlines have expressed their opinions but this fee collection is in accordance with regulations. In case the airline does not have a demand, it will still organize for passengers to travel in the usual way.

According to the announcement of Da Nang International Airport, the paid service for passengers to use priority lanes at security screening checkpoints is part of the Fast-track service and is a non-aviation service at the airport.

This service does not affect the supply capacity and quality of air transport services, does not change the aviation security control process; still ensures compliance with construction exploitation documents as prescribed.

Using priority lanes helps passengers avoid waiting in line, and at the same time, the entrance to the security control gate is cleared quickly, avoiding local congestion of passengers going through security screening procedures at certain peak times.

In addition, this provision also brings many economic benefits and improves service quality for airlines and convenience for passengers.

The Director of Da Nang International Airport also said that the unit is not the first airport to deploy this service, but Noi Bai Airport has implemented it at the international terminal.

"The implementation of priority lane toll collection is being implemented simultaneously at three major airports across the country, but due to different schedules, implementation depends on infrastructure changes of each unit," Mr. Hung informed.
