On May 25th, the Hai Phong City Forest Protection Department upgraded the forest fire warning level from Level III (high) to Level IV (dangerous). This level indicates a high risk of large-scale forest fires with rapid fire spread. These days, the city is experiencing intense heat and low humidity.
Areas at high risk of forest fires include pine plantations, forests with dense undergrowth, forest edges, areas near residential areas, and agricultural land adjacent to forest borders.
To proactively prevent and minimize the number of forest fires, the City Forest Protection Department requests that localities with forests coordinate with regional forest rangers to urge forest owners to implement fire prevention and control measures; and strictly prohibit the burning of undergrowth near forests.
The patrol force operates from 10 AM to 8 PM daily, with a focus on peak hours from 11 AM to 7 PM; and strictly adheres to reporting procedures. In the event of a forest fire, forces and resources must be mobilized promptly to extinguish the fire as quickly as possible; investigations into the fire must be conducted, and strict action taken in accordance with regulations.
