Flash flood and landslide warnings issued for Dien Bien and Son La provinces.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM on May 30th, the provinces of Dien Bien and Son La will continue to experience rain with rainfall amounts generally ranging from 15-40 mm, and in some places exceeding 60 mm.

Warning of the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on slopes in the above provinces, especially in the communes and wards of: Muong Pon, Na Sang; Bung Lao, Cha To, Chieng Sinh, Muong Ang, Muong Cha, Muong Lan, Muong Mun, Muong Nha, Muong Tung, Na Son, Na Tau, Nua Ngam, Phinh Giang, Pu Nhung, Quai To, Sang Nha, Si Pa Phin, Xa Dung ( Dien Bien province).

For Son La province, the communes and wards include: Chieng Mai, Chieng Mung, Co Ma, Long He, Mai Son, Muong Bam, Muong Chanh, Muong Chien, Muong E, Muong Gion, Nam Lau, Chieng Coi, Chieng Sinh, Phieng Pan, Ta Hoc, Thuan Chau.

Level 1 natural disaster risk warning due to flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence caused by heavy rain or runoff.

Flash floods and landslides can have very serious impacts on the environment, threatening people's lives; causing localized traffic congestion, affecting the movement of vehicles; destroying public and economic infrastructure, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.

The meteorological and hydrological agency recommends that local authorities pay attention to reviewing bottlenecks and vulnerable locations in the area to take preventive and response measures.
