Thunderstorm warning

According to the forecast from the Lao Cai Provincial Meteorological and Hydrological Station, there will be a period of heavy rain in the province in the next few hours.

Weather radar images show that convective clouds are developing, causing showers and thunderstorms, with localized moderate to heavy rain in the communes of Khanh Hoa , Phuc Loi, Dong Cuong, Mau A, Tan Hop, Phong Du Ha, Khao Mang, Lao Chai, Che Tao, and Van Chan; the convective clouds are moving from the southeast to the northwest at a speed of approximately 10-20 km/h.

Over the next few hours, this convective cloud system will continue to cause showers and thunderstorms, with localized moderate to heavy rain in the aforementioned communes. Afterwards, the thunderstorms will move and affect the following wards/communes: Mỏ Vàng, Hưng Khánh, Xuân Ái, Sơn Lương, Mậu A, Lục Yên, Lâm Thượng, Phúc Khánh, Bảo Yên, Lâm Giang, Chiềng Ken, Hạnh Phúc, Sơn Lương, Phú Luông, Tú Lệ, Mù Cang Chải, Minh Lương, Nậm Xé, Dương Quỳ, Văn Bàn, and neighboring wards/communes.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind that can uproot trees, damage houses, transportation infrastructure, and endanger human lives.
