In recent days, several localities in Cebu City, Philippines have been heavily affected by super typhoon Bualoi and a 6.9 magnitude earthquake, killing 69 people, injuring more than 150 people, and completely collapsing more than 3,500 houses, with estimated damage of more than 1.7 billion Pesos.
Under the direction of the Minister of National Defense and the leadership of the Vietnam Coast Guard, the Vietnam Coast Guard delegation led by Major General Tran Quang Tuan, Commander of Coast Guard Region 2, on board ship CSB 8002, is on a visit and exchange with the Philippine Coast Guard and has promptly joined hands to support disaster relief, along with local authorities and people.

On October 8, officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard working group coordinated with officers and staff of the Philippine Coast Guard to march more than 100km from the location where the CSB 8002 ship was anchored to Bogo province - where local people are suffering severe consequences from the earthquake - to carry out support activities.

Here, the delegation presented 1 ton of rice, instant noodles, dry food, and bottled water to the government and people. Along with that, the military medical officers on the CSB 8002 ship also coordinated with the medical officers of the Philippine Coast Guard to organize medical examinations and provide free medicine to people in areas suffering from the consequences of natural disasters.
The participation of the Vietnam Coast Guard delegation and ship CSB 8002 in supporting earthquake recovery demonstrates Vietnam's solidarity, friendship and mutual love towards international friends, thereby contributing to spreading the image of the Vietnam Coast Guard soldiers - Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era.
