Peak point for tourism growth to take off

In 2025, along with promoting the streamlining of the organizational apparatus, rearranging administrative units, and holding party congresses at all levels, Quang Ninh also set a growth target of 14% - the highest level ever. In particular, tourism and services are expected to be one of the industries with high growth rates, thereby contributing to the overall achievements of the province.

It can be seen that, with the high growth rate set by the province, it requires high determination, drastic implementation with many creative, timely and effective solutions of the entire political system from the province to the grassroots, the participation, accompanying development, enhancing production and business of the business community, cooperatives, business households, the consensus, solidarity and support of the people of all ethnic groups in the province.

The positive signal is that in the first 4 months of the year, the growth of all sectors and fields reached the set plan targets. In which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by more than 28%, continuing to play the role of a new driving force in the province's economic growth. Along with that, the mining and electricity production industry continued to maintain stability as a pillar of the province's economy, coal output and electricity output basically achieved the progress set out in the growth plan.

In particular, as one of the key economic sectors of Quang Ninh, the tourism industry has proactively developed plans, strategies, and goals for each month, each quarter, and each tourist season to strive to complete. The industry coordinates with associations, businesses, and localities to promote the development of new, unique, and attractive tourism products, enhancing the experience for tourists, especially foreign tourists, along with organizing many events, entertainment activities, and unique festivals, creating a unique relaxing space for tourists when coming to Quang Ninh.

To attract more domestic and foreign tourists, Quang Ninh tourism industry also promotes and advertises with many diverse and accessible forms, especially expanding the international tourist market, high-end tourists with high spending ability, long-term vacation, to contribute to increasing revenue for the tourism and service industry.

Notably, a series of attractive activities and events throughout the April 30 and May 1 holidays, such as Ha Long Carnival 2025, Squid Beer Festival, Van Don Sea Tourism Festival, Border tourism experience activities, Yen Tu Heritage Summer Week..., have created a vibrant atmosphere, increasing the attraction of Quang Ninh tourism. The proof is that during this holiday, tourist destinations in the province welcomed over 1.1 million visitors, an increase of 12% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors are estimated at over 100,000, overnight guests are over 465,000, an increase of about 10% over the same period. Total tourism revenue is estimated at over 3.1 trillion VND, an increase of over 40% over the same period.

With the high results of attracting tourists during the recent April 30 and May 1 holidays (ranked 4th in the country after Ho Chi Minh City, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An), in the first 4 months of 2025, Quang Ninh's destinations welcomed nearly 7.6 million visitors, an increase of 7% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors are estimated at 1.57 million; overnight guests are estimated at 1.9 million. Total tourism revenue is over 18,300 billion VND, an increase of 26% over the same period.

Following the success of the recent holiday season, the tourism industry, businesses, travel companies, services, travel agencies and localities in the province have immediately started preparing, actively organizing attractive and unique cultural, sports, tourism, entertainment and recreation events throughout the summer tourist season, along with putting into operation many unique tourism products, enhancing experiences and extending the length of stay of tourists.

Entering the second quarter of this year, Quang Ninh aims to welcome 5.3 million visitors. Total tourism revenue is estimated at over 14,720 billion VND. This is also the peak for tourism to grow rapidly. There will be 55 programs, events, and tourism stimulus activities organized by the province, including many national and international events, thereby hoping to attract a large number of tourists to Quang Ninh - Ha Long. The results of the tourism industry in the second quarter will continue to contribute to the overall growth of Quang Ninh province.
